Did I hear APPLE PIE?? The scent is wafting in my window...  Another special "treat" in families is the shorthand communication, the jokes that accrue, the way most discussions do end with laughter. Ahhhh, great piece NoAngel! Nothing like a big happy dysfunctional family to divide sorrows and multiply joys! It may not be Thanksgiving in the US yet, but in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving, I just have to express thanks for our Atop family! It's GRAND, eh?  |

I would just like to note that discussing issues doesn't mean you have any delusions that you are solving those issues, it is an attempt to understand and form/clarify your own opinions. Of course, it's up to Adam's people and RCA. It always was. Discussing politics doesn't mean you feel TPTB in our respective countries are going to alter their course of actions to fit our conversations either. Happy Thanksgiving Canadians!!! That reminded me of the time when our "family home" (PF) disappeared. I was amazed at how lost I felt! We've all said it many times, but THANKS AGAIN, Q3 and all the mods and contributors here for making a home for this family.
Great things are ahead for Adam, and I am so happy I have this family to celebrate with...

We are all so protective of Adam, but he is protective of us, too! Whoever did this video was standing right in there beside me. I was front row on Tommy's side. That big oaf walked by me and went over into the crowd and stepped on starlyyte's foot. She was wearing sandals and thought for a while that he had broken a bone in her foot. DC was a GREAT concert. The 9:30 Club is very small (the stage was small too) and everybody in there could see him really well.  Moral of the story: wear combat boots to GA concerts ;D That was my concert too, and I've never regretted the "sturdy" shoes I wore that day while we were all packed in like sardines! I also want to say the only reason I got tickets for that show was because of my board "family". My husband had gone in for emergency cardiac surgery, and there was no way that I was going to be playing games with Ticketmaster. But a whole team of [then Planet Fierce] "glamily" gathered round and jointly bombed the Ticketmaster site for me to MAKE SURE I had tickets to go. Q3 even found me a parking pass. I have never been so tearfully grateful that so many people I had never even met in person would do that for me. To this day, my RL family still talks about it in amazement. And that DC concert was utterly amazing. Sorry I didn't get to meet you or starlyyte there needacoke (next time!!), but I had a blast with sandyva, rjacks, schufly, and others who made me feel absolutely warm welcome. Love ya all! |

Thank you NoAngel for a wonderful essay. We are family but I'd much prefer the Cartwrights to the Carringtons, or The Waltons rather than the Ewings. I don't want to have to be looking over my shoulder for the backstabbing and the manipulating.
What upset me yesterday was not contentious discussion or differences of opinion but rather the apparent willingness or sometimes even delight at stringing first Monte and then Steve Cooke up by the fingernails on the flimsiest evidence. I have a hard time with social interaction and have never dealt well with things like office politics or the pecking order of group friendships. I have been run out of at least two jobs because of people who took a dislike to me and used evidence as flimsy as what is present about Monte to systematically poison an entire office/workplace against me to the point where I was fired. So that is what made yesterday extremely uncomfortable for me and why although I really love it here I am probably going to step back for a bit. I'm not storming off in a huff or demanding anyone change anything just trying to deal with my own emotions about what went down. I will still lurk and skim through the thread just may not log in much or comment. This also hit me at a point where I am on an unscheduled forced vacation because the engine blew in the grooming van that I work out of so I won't be able to work until it is fixed and don't know if this is going to put me in a bind financially. So for my own sake I just need to step back.

Does anyone know the name of the musical group on the Ashton Michael website? I asked about that yesterday but never found an answer. I just tried using Shazam, but it says it could not find a match. I had used Shazam before to find an awesome UK group that was playing on some website, but no luck w this one. |
