People don't read disclaimers or what's "under the fold", i.e. "RCA's only real release" or the word "Official." All they look for is the artist's name. They also don't know or care that Adam is signed with RCA. Look at the fairly massive pr campaign Adam got for FYE, including all that press about the cover -- and yet thousands of fans bought Take One thinking it was Adam's official release. Lots of people are going to buy BFM for the holidays because it's available and it has "ADAM LAMBERT" in big letters. That's all that's needed. Have to give points to Welsford -- he sure knows how to market his product and has plenty of people, including those close to Adam, willing to aid and abet. Carrieb, I just meant that it could help a little on the radio station display of albums, not that it would address the many, many other problems involved with this whole thing. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Peace&love Oh, sorry, I was extrapolating. I spend a good bit of my day dealing with the fact that people no longer read anything more than a headline and trying to find ways to encourage people to spend more than 5 seconds acquiring information, so it's a pet project/peeve of mine.

While I am extremely annoyed that BFM is on the site for these major radio stations I am not worried that it will destroy Adam's career. Unless I'm missing something obvious the information is something you have to search for by looking up Adam Lambert discography. It's not on the main page. I expect when there is information about Adam's real album it will be in your face, front page everywhere, not something you would have to look hard to find. Most casual impulse buyers are probably not searching that radio station site that carefully.

Whenever I see Q3 or any Mod, correcting or modifying a post IN GREEN TYPE, my mind goes back to when I was 3-4 and asked my Granny what the traffic light colors were. She told me - green = go; red = stop; yellow = caution (I pronounced that causha then ) So I am always thinking "it should be in RED NOT GREEN" TMI - Sorry, just thought I'd share! ;D HA!! I use green and violet because they show up on all the ATop skins -- for the white backgrounds and for the daring folks who choose the black and midnight blue backgrounds, Of course, then where is RED!!!!

I would think that almost everything we post here, besides links and videos is opinion. IMO<<< shouldn't have to say that BTW, if we have about 10 members who got Take One as gifts, on this small board, I don't think saying several thousand were bought by people who thought it was the real Adam Lambert is that far out of whack! My Target had it almost as long as they had FYE and for part of that time Take One was in Best Sellers and FYE was filed in the alphabet section! :( That being said, I don't think BFM will derail the success of Adam #2. However, the incident with all the i-Heart radio stations today is a good example of what can happen. A few things have moved from opinion/guess to posted as fact status over the past couple of years. I think it is really important that we separate the guesses from the facts. Perhaps instead of Urban Myths we should label them Adam Myths. But on the more important note ---- I really do not believe BFM will have any material effect one way or the other on Adam 2. If it's such a non-threat, why has RCA asked specifically to be alerted to anywhere it's being proliferated? They obviously perceive it as a threat. As Lulu's post illustrates, the link went out to 800 stations. That's significant. I agree with you, carrieb. So much information is disseminated in headlines, retail tags, ads and 140 characters. THAT is what people see and hone in on. They likely don't even realize they aren't getting the entire picture. It likely wouldn't occur to them. Isn't that why impulse racks are called impulse racks? They offer eye candy with the hopes that you will pick it up on a whim. I also contend that I was able to find Take One MUCH easier at every Target and WalMart I went to when I was monitoring. It was right there out in front for all to see. Actually, my Targets at the time had the alphabetical listings on the aisle-facing rack and Adam has yet another advantage in that his last initial is dead-center of the alphabet, so he at the center of the rack. This is something many products pay dearly for – in writer's circles, they always say if you're going to use a pseudonym, use a last name starting with K, L, or M, so you'll be at eye-level on the book racks. I search and searched the first time I ever tried to find FYE at Target and though I consider myself a decent sleuth, I had to ask finally. It was off on the Pop rack, which to this day I don't understand where or how (because I LOOKED on the Pop rack and didn't find it). The guy knew at least and was able to pull it for me. But I was tripping over Take One every time I went to Target. It was like a beacon.

It will be interesting to watch how quickly or IF Clear Channel fixes this feed.

Why was Take One so prominent at Targets? Has anyone ever figured that out?! :-/
