Also, as I was just discussing with Susie, this whole issue would allow for some actual good questions during promo interviews, giving Adam the chance to talk about how long he's been making music, how hard he's worked trying to make it, etc. This would be huge in shedding some of the Idol stigma and the idea that he just dropped out of nowhere and hasn't put in the blood, sweat, and tears that "real musicians" have to put in. Much, much better than stoopid questions about the five minutes he spent in Madonna's house, right???? OMG now I really want this to happen! ETA: LOL, Susie and I practically said the same thing about the musician dues/Idol thing. Jinx! But the downside is that those damned bottomfeeders will be making money off this bastard release. >:(

[sneaks back in] Ya know, I'm not changing my mind in the slightest about the dirty dealings surrounding these bastard albums, but just looking at this single press release as an independent entity, I'm secretly pleased at most of it. The wording of this press release pumps Adam up with a LOT of cred. Plus, it is completely explicit that these are early, pre-Idol recordings. However, its the word "official" that's liberally used that I take serious offense to, and hope RCA squashes. Official according to whom? Can the word "official" be legally used here?? [whispers] Shhhhh...but I *do* like the rest of it! ETA: I believe these Paramount sessions are separate from BFM, and is actually "Bastard Album #2b". If so, I think they are being promoted less sleezily than Bastard Album #2a (BFM). I don't know if this was the original intent or merely a reaction to the fan howls, but if so....they're learning. and I am rather worried that all the attention will be on the Paramount sessions as the "Early Recordings" This is where Welsford is IMO banking on the confusion.. BFM slides in as Adams "NEW" #2 album... right before the Paramount sessions get released Dec 6th.. BFM is set to get released in Nov right..so BFM is going to benefit from all the talk of the paramount release... and is going to appear to be Adams real CD... instead of what it is.. CV music..

Aren't BOTH bastards being produced by the N.Zealand scum?

Not to repeat myself, But yes...artists like Adam have paid their dues. This music is a part of his "history". (Don't mean the Take one or 2 stuff) but the CV music is!!!!
Early Beatles music ...eveyone was interested...fans knowing it was "history " not the NOW music. BUT still interested.
Just sick about the timing of the release and confusion...certainly not sick about the music. Bet almost everyone on this sight has been interested enough to at least listen to the old CV music on youtube.
Whomever owns the rights to the CV music... has the rights. Been involved in professional sport and business ventures enough to know this legality issue.
Yet ...sometime lemons can be lemonade in the end.
Noangel states "They may end up making more or less than they would anyway, but a larger segment of the buying public would know that they are slimy scum, and the publicity and talking points would be well worth it, IMO."
I concur...can this work to his advantage.? Why not spin to do so!!! ...What can be done to spin this in Adam's favour.... is the way to go with this.... for his mangement team.

Now you got me all confused again lol. Aren't BOTH bastards being produced by the N.Zealand scum? It looks like it's possible that they are by two different but associated scumbags. Mean RCA will have to work twice as hard. Probably can't stop either - the best that they would be able to do is make them relabel.

As excruciatingly painful as it was for me to watch (after bragging to all about his impeccable vocals) and as worried as I was about the "fall out", I have to admit that this defining moment had some very positive repercussions. It is one example of how a perceived negative can be turned into a positive. One of several such examples with Adam. Given that experience, I am going to do all I can to block the sale of BFM and paramount sessions, but also look forward to seeing how this will ultimately be turned to Adam's advantage. Hey, we know it could happen. I have always believed that the AMA's were good for him internationally as well. And only time will tell about BFM and other future hurdles he will have to overcome. It reminds me of the Steve Jobs commencement speech to Stanford about "connecting the dots" that has been broadcast recently. Worth listening to if you haven't heard it. I have faith that when Adam looks back on his life and connects the dots that he will be satisfied with the final result. He has found what he loves and he is superb at it. I plan to follow and support his career through through these ups and downs, for as long as his voice is one of my loves (and I expect that to be for a very long time). Thank you, I am in total agreement with you.
