well I won't be surprised if he acts all surprised like he doesn;t know about that webmaster for his MontePittman News site.. It is his name. It reflects on him. He is the one who empowered his webmaster to handle official tweets so their veracity is ON HIM. The buck stops with Monte. THIS!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^

Take One = song demos for the composer trying to sell his compositions to other artists. Adam told how to sound, how to sing. Paid as a session musician. Has no rights beyond getting paid for the session work. Never expected the songs with HIS voice to ever be released.
Paramount Sessions = same songs as Take One packaged along with songs by the Cooke guy. Repackaging only to get more sales. No different tracks from Adam.
BFM = the CV Adam and Monte compositions. Recorded as the first step toward producing an album for release. May have been demos to shop around to record labels, or may have been the rough drafts of songs they hoped Malcolm would release and distribute for them so they could earn fame and fortune. Their work. Just not, in Adam's mind, a completed project. Not ready for sale. And probably remixed and played with in ways Adam never knew about. In order to agree to produce these songs in the studio, Malcolm almost certainly had a contract with all the musicians about being able to release the music, with a royalty to the performers and the composers.
Obviously, Adam's lawyers could not stop the release of Take One, so probably will not be able to block the release of Paramount Sessions. They may be able to find legal loopholes to control how it is marketed as far as Adam's name is concerned.
There were plans to release the CV material the summer after Idol. That never came to fruition, and the assumption was that Adam's lawyers were able to block it. Whether they have the legal leg to stand on to prevent its release now is up to the courts reviewing the contracts.
Did that clear anything up?

That was my take as well. It is the same type situation as Take One. I just wanted to clarify what was said. If we determine that our INFERENCES or the truth and the words spoken are 'less' true...fine...as long as we apply that rule to everything we read and speak. It is the old cake and eat it thing..... I agree he probably meant both deals were shady. Perhaps both had the same or similar backers. I also agree they clearly are shady in their timing [CV release] and pretty much all round [Paramount/Take One]. But...the definitive term is 'probably'. We don't believe Monte and others and dissect their every word for nuance and proof of vileness...then claim our assumptions as TRUTH. That is scary. Sorry...I have been teaching and researching communication ethics for years and the word tweaking going on here is really pushing margins all over the place, on all sides. Surely the truth can stand on its own two legs...and it has two legs...it does not need name calling or obsfucation or twisting. Right now...Westford is a sleazebag and opportunistic jerk. If we spread the blame to thinly, to everyone we can get within earshot...we spread it to thin to stick, and discredit ourselves. I would suggest we lay off 'wrong thinking fans', 'pearl clutchers', 'ignorant or lazy critics and journalists', and even Monte and the other musicians who would prefer it be their names on this product too, and just put that blame squarely where it belongs. On Westford! And get him....where it hurts....as hard as possible...

ITA on the bolded part and this is what Adam has stated loud and clear, in not quite such a clear way. Here's the thing, guys: We are fans. We never, ever have the whole story on anything. We take bits of info and extrapolate and surmise and read between the lines. This is part of what happens here and on any fansite. And it's totally fine. What we can't do is take posted opinions personally and take opposite views as personal insults. We can't question someone else's intelligence, ethics, or fan-cred based on their opinion. Opine away, but don't feel bad if you happen to be in the minority on any given issue. It happens to all of us somewhere along the way.

I just think it's rather interesting that Tommy had been playing gigs with Monte but apparently last night @the Whisky A Go Go Monte had a bass player by the name of Max Whipple. I would think that Tommy would have been available ... I wonder
