Just an observation. During the GNT I always noted that Monte rarely, if ever hung with the gang. Most of mthem were out having fun and Monte was never to be seen. Monte has always said that Adam was fiercely loyal to his friends. What the fuck happened????

Yup. That's why I hope we don't have to see him on the next tour - Adam might be a highly evolved, forgiving human being but I think it would (will) take me a while to get over this kind of disloyalty from a friend. ??? Now I'm only SPECULATING here but I think it might be difficult for Monte to play for Adam now because there is a signicant amount of fandom that is upset with him. There would need to be alot of clearing of the air. I'm visualizing the band intro and if they were playing today I think Monte's reception would be tepid at best. But who knows, stranger things have happened, maybe he will be there |

I just wanted to clarify what was said. If we determine that our INFERENCES or the truth and the words spoken are 'less' true...fine...as long as we apply that rule to everything we read and speak. It is the old cake and eat it thing..... I agree he probably meant both deals were shady. Perhaps both had the same or similar backers. I also agree they clearly are shady in their timing [CV release] and pretty much all round [Paramount/Take One]. But...the definitive term is 'probably'. We don't believe Monte and others and dissect their every word for nuance and proof of vileness...then claim our assumptions as TRUTH. That is scary. Sorry...I have been teaching and researching communication ethics for years and the word tweaking going on here is really pushing margins all over the place, on all sides. Surely the truth can stand on its own two legs...and it has two legs...it does not need name calling or obsfucation or twisting. Right now...Westford is a sleazebag and opportunistic jerk. If we spread the blame to thinly, to everyone we can get within earshot...we spread it to thin to stick, and discredit ourselves. I would suggest we lay off 'wrong thinking fans', 'pearl clutchers', 'ignorant or lazy critics and journalists', and even Monte and the other musicians who would prefer it be their names on this product too,  and just put that blame squarely where it belongs. On Westford! And get him....where it hurts....as hard as possible...  Agreed. Seriously though. I just miss my happy place, for the last week it's just have been so much anger, angst and finger pointing going on everywhere. I'm not even worrying about this. Like someone said earlier, things just have a way of working out in Adam's favor, and all of this heated debate amongst ourselves isn't helping... |

That was similar to my take on it.
My first thought, when I read the tweet was.... he did not know the difference between the releases. That got the firestorm going on...everyone's "points of view". His.... fuck...for the buck came out in people's arguments as if this release was not legitimate. It seems one of these albums may be legit, if they signed away their rights. PERIOD. If not legal lawyers will figure this out. Still a bummer that the timing is reprehensible. Yes this. I think there is/was some confusion. I think that Adam said that he thinks that they both are the same thing. He didn't even know that they were going to be released, so I don't think at the time he knew exactly what was what, or what was going on when he first said that. It Adam's tweets were only a day or so ago, I might give this some credence - however, it has been over a week. During that week the fans have been livid over BOTH bastard albums and particularly upset with Monte over BfM - Adam must be aware of this. He has been on twitter and both Eber and Neil are aware. Yet Adam, the guy who is always there to defend his friends, hasn't said another word on the subject. I think due to past friendship and wanting to always put the bad behind him that he will NOT comment further on Monte's involvement. Maybe he really has been too busy and doesn't know what's up and will come forward to support M - but as each day goes by, that seems less and less likely. |

As I recall, Monte took a number of the days off from tour to fly back to LA. Seems like Brooke and Longineau also weren't involved in many of the "time off" pix either. |
