when i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled. but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair. i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time. but in light of jamey's death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality for every gay lesbian bisexual and transgendered citizen of this country. gay kids need to stop killing themselves because they are made to feel worthless by cruel and relentless bullying. parents need to teach their children principles of respect and acceptance. we are witnessing an enormous shift of collective consciousness throughout the world. we are at the precipice of great transformation within our culture and government. i believe in the power of intention to change the landscape of our society - and it is my intention to live an authentic life of compassion and integrity and action. jamey rodemeyer's life changed mine. and while his death only makes me wish that i had done this sooner - i am eternally grateful to him for being the catalyst for change within me. now i can only hope to serve as the same catalyst for even one other person in this world. that - i believe - is all that we can ask of ourselves and of each other.

SusieFierce - thank you for bringing this here. It is a beautiful sentiment and it is sooo beautifully written - IMHO. Along with NoAngels essay today (kudos-per usual to her), this statement has me delving into the reasons behind my AFL addiction.....again. (you may not see the connection right off, but just as this senseless death changed ZQ's life, Adam had changed mine. It reminds me of the old Buddhist saying - "When the student is ready, the teacher will come." My first thought ever on the cause behind this addiction, was that "well, of course, he's amazing and if everyone realized it they would ALL be addicted" - LOL. But then it didn't take long, once I immersed myself in Pop Culture, to realize that there are people stanning other folks just as hard. Celebrities like Clay Aiken and David Archuleta are eliciting the same visceral reactions in people as AL. I don't see it!! So I'm back to the same questions I've been pondering for a long time: Why me? Why Adam? Why now - at this particular time in my life? All I know for sure is that, even though my stanning is taking time (and even some of my old pleasures) away from my RL and away from my friends and family - I don't want to be cured. |

Do you think this mess is part of the reason for the album delay and also Adam's vagueness all along with dates? Sorry if this has been discussed. I have been too busy to keep up. If you're asking me my personal opinion, I doubt it. Delays and rescheduling are both normal in album land. I heard recently that the delay was due to the upheaval at RCA and his change in management. |

I think that they somehow made a fake page with a url that looks like it is based off of the official myspace and then they circulated the link through twitter or comments on websites. I cannot find any way to get to that url or any mention of BFM off of the official myspace page. Take One songs are there probably because they already are released. I think the fans need to stop circulating that direct link and when they see it posted in comments should state that it is not actually accessible from the official myspace page. |

Why did my comment along with another one, disappear on Adam's myspace account? ??? What is going on? If you go to AO and scroll to the bottom of the page there are icons linking to his official myspace, facebook and twitter accounts. The Myspace link there is: www.myspace.com/adamlambertmusicThis page is almost bare nothing seems to have ever been set up on it. The link that you guys are commenting on is slightly different in that rather than adamlambertmusic as all one word the link is adamlambert/music. On AFL there are no links that I can find to either Adam's facebook or a myspace account. The link you are commenting on (http://xxxxx /music/songs/xxxxxxxxxbegxxxxforxxxxmercy-84512737) looks like it should be off of what comes up as his official profile when you just go to myspace and search(http://www.myspace.com/adamlambert) but it is not the profile that is linked from AO which is strange. But the really weird thing is that I cannot find any way to get to that BFM link you are posting on other than the direct link which is being circulated around. When you go to the myspace and search adam lambert you get this profile as the first result: www.myspace.com/adamlambert then when you click on music and then see all songs under the songs list you get this url: www.myspace.com/adamlambert/music/songs but from there I see no listing for bfm nor any way to end up with the url that is your direct link: http:// xxxxxxx music/songs/begxxxxxfor-mercyxxxxx84512737 so did they use some hacker method to create a page that looks like it is on his profile but really is only accessible from the direct link? I don't know my way around myspace, but it looks like the AO myspace link to adamlambertmusic is a link to a unused page. This appears to be the "in use" adam lambert myspace: www.myspace.com/adamlambert since it has 153181 friends. It does have take 1 listed among albums (and among the songs), but no BFM or PMS. It also has ads connecting to the official AO store. So does AO own this space? or simply advertise there? I'll ask in their mod thread there. I can't really figure out what is happening with that BFM song link, but no, it doesn't look like you can navigate there in any way from the larger site. ETA: I broke the links to the BFM song in the above quotes so that it doesn't get indexed on google. |

I just went to the standard myspace.com/adamlambert and tried to recreate the path myspace.com/adamlambert/music/songs/beg-for-mercy-84512737 by selecting 'music' next as it suggests. 'Music' is actually a tier above the artist, not one below it as this path would make it seem. I'd say it's a total fake. Again  |

NoAngel: ... as his promo might kick off soon, and we're always being asked to tweet questions for him, and he's always complaining about same-old, same-old, might it be a good idea (MODS) to have a thread here somewhere for people to post only really good new questions for Adam (tweetable length) so that when we get the call for questions Atoppers with twitter accounts have someplace to go where they're all rounded up together, for inspiration? That sentence was way too long, but does that make sense? An Ask Adam thread, that's not for discussions but just for us to post a question or more that we really want to Ask Adam but maybe forget in the excitement of the twitter party so that we end up asking something like, "um, um, um, what's your favorite color of icecream?!" or "Do you like us? Do you really really like us?!?" instead, lol.   Can we have an "ASK ADAM" thread??? |
