Well, since it's reasonably quiet today, can anyone tell me which GNT Broken Open is the best sound-wise? How many shows did he actually sing it?

Aloha - hi Recently you mentioned some interaction with your brother. I thought, "he would get along well with my brother". : Someone else mentioned that Adam needs straight male fans. I laid in bed the other night trying to understand what the determining factors for acceptance are in my family and friends. Why do members of the same family feel so differently? When I considered religion, education, occupation, location (city - country - state), birth order, single, divorced, music preferences, politics and so on I could come to no other conclusion than is seems those who have been willing to consciously THINK and then make their own conclusions was the difference. Those that used "my husband says, the bible says", etc. somehow didn't seem to make an effort. And for the comment about needing straight male fans. When one of my male relatives said "I can't stand Adam. His shows would be just a bunch of gay guys", the male relatives who has been to his shows said "Not so!" They had gone, they had a great time, and it was a very diverse crowd. Maybe they don't buy music as Q3 says but their willingness to attend his shows may help open the discussion. Not everyone will change their opinion but perhaps it would cause some to think a bit more before speaking. Sorry for the rambling but hope this is ok.

It is unfortunate that they are marketing this in a way that is confusing and makes some people think this is new Adam music -- for about 30 seconds -- but thankfully very, very few people are being fooled. How do you know this? Some people are obviously buying it. How many countries, other than Canada , have any type of advertising? Most fans are not like us. They do not follow Adam on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. There are far more casual fans than hard core fans. There are also music listeners who liked WWFM and/or IIHY, but can't even be classified as casual fans. I'm a Kelly Clarkson casual fan. If I saw an ad on my FB page saying her new single was out, I would immediately go to iTunes and download it. If her "new single" was some odd, aged rock song with horrible production, I would think that must be the direction she is going in. Unless she ended up having a couple of Top 10 radio songs, that convinced me to revisit the idea of checking out her album, I might not ever go further to investigate her new music. Do you not think some people are doing this with the BFM single? I'm sure there were many Canadian casual fans who downloaded this horrible song yesterday, thinking it was Adam's "new single". I wonder what they are thinking now? Why would they only think that BFM is his new single "for 30 seconds"? There was an ad on iTunes, so they bought the new song. Most of them don't belong to ANY type of AI, Adam, or music fan board. Unless they happen to see something on their Yahoo homepage, they have no idea about what is going on in the music world. For every casual fan who downloads BFM, there are probably 2 or 3 others who go and listen to the snippet on iTunes, think the song is terrible and decide to pass on buying the song. Then there are many more general music listeners who go to check out the snippet because they liked a couple of Adam's songs from his last album era. They are expecting WWFM or IIHY and they get an outdated rock song with terrible production. That could mean that many of these music listeners don't take the time to check out THE REAL FIRST SINGLE when it comes out! :( :( We tend to think from our perspective, (in the Adam or AI bubble)and forget that there are casual fans and general music listeners out in the real world who ARE being fooled by this BFM release. >:( >:( >:(

Crazylady - thanks for the DJ story, I love this kind of feedback. And please post often cause your avi is delish. Awww...you're welcome! I only listen to KRBE but usually it's just when I'm in the car b/c I'm in and out of the house all day, but I've NEVER heard them just talk casually about Adam so I freaked when she started talking about him AND the new album. I couldn't believe it! "delish" - a very good word to describe our BB. Hubby is going to be home all next week; that is definitely going to cramp my style and time at Atop. LOL I'm sure I'll figure out something though. I'll probably lurk more than post. But, at least we're home and not travelling so I don't have to go through complete withdrawal for a week! I'm sooooo far down the rabbithole!
