ETA: Maybe his eyelashes are so frigging long that they shield the glare from the flash going off... And why is his skin a different colour to everybody else? nvm.... *sighs* alien works for me  |

Great photo, lynne. (Thanks for the song scoop, too!) Glad your son got a chance to meet and talk with Nile. He does seem like a nice man, in addition to being a legend. I'm enjoying his blog and considering reading his memoir.

It would be cool if the rumor about the duet with Robbie Williams is true. I'm not really a RW fan myself, but I know he's mega popular in the UK and it would be a great way to help Adam make inroads there.
I don't know how to feel about the AMA performance rumor, though! On the one hand, I think it's amazing and would be spectacular promo for the single. And on the other hand, I know I'd be a nervous wreck on awards show night and in need of cyber hand-holding. I know that Adam is more confident and more experienced than he was two years ago, but it's still a lot of pressure--in an all-eyes-on-him hyped-up situation--for a song debut. He acknowledges that he still sometimes gets nervous for TV performances, and I wonder what he can do about that? Recognizing it and being able to control it are different things. If the rumor turns out to be true, I hope he has time to prepare, prepare, prepare. Luckily, if he's performing a song he wrote and produced, it's sure to be in his wheelhouse vocally. Actually, the more I talk about it, the more I'm getting nervous excited rather than nervous anxious. His life really does seem to be blessed with beautiful full circle moments. Also, a lot of good things came out of the first AMA performance, from the double-standard conversation that was started domestically (and the pop culture recognition he achieved) to the international audience he gained and the knowledge that he could weather such a storm. The most valuable outcome, though, in my mind is the reinforcing lesson to stick to his own path and not be swayed or have his buttons pushed or his actions dictated by his reaction to another person's agenda or opinions (or even a TV announcer's sensationalized declarations). He's really fortunate to have encountered that challenge on such a large scale so early in his career.
Adam being back in New York makes me feel like things are really happening now!
