One more thing. About the pitch issue. The ability to hear pitches is individual. You can actually take a test online to see how precise your sense of pitch is. jakemandell.com/adaptivepitch/ Therefore, what may sound "pitchy" to me, might sound fine to others. Or what sounds fine to me might still be a tad off to someone with a more exact sense of pitch than mine. There are obvious pitchy moments for some singers that most listeners would notice and cringe at. There are other moments where some would say, "Hmmmm, it could be the slightest bit flat or sharp, but not jarringly so, and not enough to interfere with enjoyment of the performance." While others would say, "It sounds great to me." It is a matter of how minutely one hears differences in sound wave frequencies and modulations. Something learned, but also naturally innate. 100% agree with that, I unfortunately hear very slight pitch issues a lot more than some people and it's annoying tbh. Good thing is lots of casual listeners don't hear things like that and for some the more pushed kind of vocal is preferable hence why some die hard Queenies complain Adam is too musical theater (melodic to my ears) so there's been tons of people checking him out and loving that performance, it's pushed the EP and Superpower back up the itunes chart so it did it's job.

I have a hearing problem, and wear hearing aids, but usually not at home. I wore earbuds to watch Adam’s performance. I didn’t notice any pitch problems, and even went back to try and look for what you guys were talking about. Maybe I couldn’t detect anything because of my hearing loss, but I can usually detect pitch problems. What I did notice was him trying to switch it up and maybe not sound so perfect, or operatic, or Queen like. I loved his performance. And the way he looked took my breath away. I could stare at him all day.

I didn't notice anything either. I used to sing years ago so I'd like to think I would. Smoked for too long can't make it happen anymore. However I'm probably biased where Adam is concerned.
The short version of my Adam story- been a fan since Idol. Then 5 years ago I had a cancer diagnosis. Handled it poorly pretty much threw in the towel on everything including music which had always been my lifeline.
Adam rescued me with Believe (Cher is one of my all time favorites). Plus his open letter to fans and Feel Something which spoke to me in big way. Then on the special which here in April, when Brian talked about Adam's performance of WWTLF the day after the Pulse nightclub shooting I looked that up. It brought me to tears . I played it several times a day until the tour started then switched to tour vids! Went to QAL in Detroit loved. So I credit Adam with saving my sanity and bringing me back to life. He is my hero and my Idol.
I'm wondering if the cancellations had an effect since he hasn't performed this live much and probably couldn't really rehearse either to make up for. I went back and played a couple different vids to see if I noticed. Maybe very slight.
Like I said I might be biased at this but certainly thrilled to see him back in touch looking happy and beautiful. Hoping to make it to a solo show of some kind next year. Onward and Upward!🤩

Loved the whole vibe to Adam’s performance tonight. Thanks to those who posted performances and clips. Just out of curiosity, though—is it customary to get on here for some of Adam’s performances and point out any “mistakes”, “needed improvements”, etc.... ? I ask this because not everyone who looks here is a “friend”; of Adam, which is fine if we want to do some of their “work” for them, thus leaving them time to hunt for additional problems. Now, Cassie was asked as a resident expert, so that seems to me to be in a different category, I guess. Yes, I know we have freedom of speech here, but this seems to me to go to a whole different core of his being that is different than hairstyles outfits, significant others, interviews and publicity, etc... It is difficult to clearly articulate what I mean here. I might be the only person who has wondered about this issue, and I do not know how to make the little umbrella trying to shield someone from the brown mud or poop patties being thrown at them, but please consider that Umbrella up here! If I am being silly or needlessly sensitive, I shall scamper off to continue my fall cleaning. Thanks for any clarification. I agree with you. Every performance is picked apart at nauseum. It's absolutely ridiculous! ![](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Chapf%20smileys/panic-green.gif)

Wow, you guys are tough! I thought he sounded amazing, best he has yet singing this song. I heard nothing "flat," and I didn't notice any pitch problems. Sometimes I think people are just looking for issues...
It was a live performance, lol!

Wow, you guys are tough! I thought he sounded amazing, best he has yet singing this song. I heard nothing "flat," and I didn't notice any pitch problems. Sometimes I think people are just looking for issues... It was a live performance, lol! Not looking for issues. One of the things I love about Adam's performances is that I can usually sit back and relax while he sings, knowing that he is gonna kill it vocally. With many singers my throat tries to compensate for poor pitch or technique. It is unconscious and uncomfortable. Not with Adam. Most of the time. So, when I hear a bum pitch it is very noticeable to me. Jars me out of my comfort zone. I actually squirm, and feel bad for him. It is not something I choose to hear or something I can adjust not to hear. Analogy: You and a friend are in a department store. You hear this subliminal whine, high pitched, which seems to make the fillings of your teeth ache. You comment to your friend. She looks at you, puzzled. She hears nothing. Just the normal sound of muzak and shoppers talking. As you walk around the store it gets louder and softer, but never goes away. It starts to drive you crazy. What the hell is that??!! Your friend is sure you are psycho. You decide to leave the store in hopes that it will go away. As you walk to the door it gets worse and worse. Then, once outside, it is gone! WTF??? Turns out, it is a security system to monitor those tags on clothes to prevent shoplifting. It is pitched at a frequency and intensity that most people cannot hear (but dogs can). But, to those who do, it is nerve wracking and relentless. Yeah, variations of pitch are like that. If you hear it, you hear it and cannot unhear it. If you don't, the world sounds delightful.

I enjoy all the comments on the performance. No one has said anything I can disagree with since I heard little ‘things’ too and those who did will, of course, have some kind of personal response to that - especially those more musically in tune (unintentional pun ![GrinSmiliey](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/grin.png) ) edit: I think cassie ‘s analogy is a good one. My response is that I heard that it wasn’t perfect BUT I LOVED THAT IT WASN’T!He sounded so real and sexy and if anything, the lack of his usual smoothness and ease in places just seemed to exaggerate how fantastic his voice is. Haven’t we often said that he makes it look ‘too easy’ so that the ordinary listener can’t appreciate just how complicated his notes and riffs are and and how accomplished his technique? For me, it was (very, very slightly) imperfectly PERFECT!

I agree with SophieB. The little off pitches were so slight almost no one would notice. I've been watching Adam for 7 years & this is the first little "blip" I've ever noticed! What an amazing performer!! He looked gorgeous & his beautiful personality always shows through. LHSFM!!!
