I admit I know nothing, but I'm having a hard time imaging why Adam would have tweeted that cryptic comment, knowing full well the impact it would have on his fans, if he weren't going to be there, and weren't going to be doing something noteworthy. Even if he innocently tweeted it for no other reason than to urge his followers to tune into a Really Cool Show - extremely unlikely, IMO - certainly seeing his feed immediately explode would make him think that maybe, just maybe, it would be a good idea to clarify the situation so as to not create massive disappointment later. And I'm also having a hard time imagining Adam singing with Queen as being anything other than a huge win, especially if he knocks it out of the park like we all know he's capable of doing. Suddenly the highly resistant UK would sit up and take notice, and probably be more open to playing HIS music. I seriously doubt they'd hold it against him that he was singing a cover. ETA...Ooooh, ladyoz, I'd forgotten about the rumor of unreleased songs by FM! That would be amazing. I agree... I don't think doing a cover internationally would hurt at all and perhaps they will announce he has a new single coming out. I think no matter what it is would be a win for Adam. So for now I am going to be excited:-) for whatever it is... ETA: And I agree with what bocababe said in the above me post - I would be very disappointed too!

Can't stop myself from trying to brainstorm various options from presenting a particular award or performance (or having a video clip saying words maybe as part of a tribute), to being part of a tribute performance (maybe with a couple of guest vocalists, like the Aretha tribute at the Grammys), to something more??
Also wondering how "european" vs. british these award shows skew. This year's is broadcast from Belfast, Adam's not known in the UK, but is much more in the rest of Europe it seems.
lol I just found myself wondering why he didn't use an exclamation point *pulls self back from the brink of cray thought processes*

I hope I am wrong.....but....... adamlambert Adam Lambert Make sure you tune in to the EMA's this Sunday. 1 hour ago could just be Adam supporting MTV. This was my first reaction to Adam's tweet. I hope I'm wrong, too. My second thought was that he was just presenting an award. As much as I would love for him to debut his single, has anyone else ever done that at this show? Completely off topic, can anyone recommend a good free program for making animated gifs from video?

I really hope he is there and performs, but it could be something like he is presenting Queen with their award or maybe in the build up intro to their award they are going to be showing a package of taped pieces from singers telling how much Queen influenced them etc. But the fact that Shashona Stone's company is working with him and she tweeted she is excited about a performance, I don't know what to think or should say hope for!

I agree with everything you said bocababe. And I'll bet that even if Adam's music is not generally known to the European audience, many will have heard of the AMA performance! It made worldwide headlines. I think this is exactly the type of exposure Adams team would be working to get in Europe before Adam2 comes out. And performing with Queen transcends doing a cover song, imo. I think Adam will be there and it won't be to just present. EXPLODE in November he said. I think this qualifies.
PS also agree that there is no way he tweets that cryptically for a presenting gig in europe or to pimp a friend. No way. Jmo

Isn't Gaga, Bieber, Katy going to be there? Could be one of them. But like Seoulmate said he's usually not that vague when he's pimping other people, only himself. EMA's would be the perfect place to put Adam -- the press will take care of the AMA's/US do not get it. Haha and earlier I was talking trying to cool off till he debuts new music, then he drops this bomb, lol. Not any of them because Shashona Stone has Sony for a client. They all are signed to competitors. But I really do not expect to see Adam performing with Queen. One of his themes for Adam #2 is NEXT, not yesterday. And I am a huge Queen fan. Adam's management made one big mistake on his launch (OK 2) but the first one was TFM -- a classic rock song released 20 years too late. [I love it but I am a dinosaur. Then they followed up with FYE and the retro shuffle beat. I really think Adam knows he needs to stay current now. So IF he could get Queen to back him up for his new single -- great. Otherwise, he should stay far away from doing tributes. JMHO YMMV. If he did participate in some type of performance with Queen, it would be a Tribute. It wouldn't be about Adam's own music. Although, it could introduce a huge, new audience to what a spectacular voice he has and possibly motivate some of that audience to check out his old music and the new music coming up. I'm with those who are having a hard time seeing a negative in this scenario. You don't pass up an opportunity like this, to introduce yourself to a group of potential new fans.
