mys*&@^#r:This. THIS and totally THIS!!It's SUCH BS and how anyone can't see right through it ... DOESN'T MATTER – there is not a damn thing he can do about Adam appearing on Idol now and if it WAS an issue, why the hell didn't he say anything about it in 2008 when Adam auditioned or any time in the past three years??? Why didn't they say anything during the entire duration of the show and the two years since? It's such a obvious red-herring to get attention and whatevs! Adam gets press (if it bleeds, it leads) and I can't imagine anyone with an ounce of common sense who doesn't read that an think, "So? You're only squawking about that NOW?" And if their tongues do start wagging, it's only because those people love a good tongue-wagging. And Perez, you can dial it back on the tabloid sensationalism ... like we needed your editorializing to make it seem more salacious. : :

Ya'll have a great day. I have seen all the news I need to between playing around on twitter last night with my new droid phone (yippee!) and checking in here today. No new music for awhile? Ok, then. My dog will be thrilled. In fact I think I'm going to spend the day with her. Love to all. Peace out.

Think about the creative inspiration it takes to create stuff. Its not a practical thing that has a well structured plan ahead of time and follows precise deadlines for every brick laid. Its not something that can be churned out by rote (unless you want it to SOUND like that). Artists chisel and chisel away and throw stuff out and start from scratch again until satisfaction is reached. I know Adam and his company will be concerned that an energised fanbase will start to fade away if the album doesnt come out soon. I know i never would - there's too much that man has going for him. And even if some parts of the fanbase start fading, a great album will revive interest. It really isnt about how long it takes (dont take that too the extreme I mean within a reasonable timespan) but how good its quality is. To be honest, it bugs me when I hear fans getting upset when there's a delay in the process. It has only been ONE YEAR since he finished his tour. You try writing a bloody good album in that time. I thought FYE was very good for what went into it (very little time! and lots of marketing imperatives). Now he wants to be more honest and creative. It takes time. Delays are natural and inevtiable with artistic work. I know fans are hungry for stuff from him, but it starts to get... demanding. even commodified - like ordering Van Gogh paintings by the meter. I dont think thats a great energy for any artist we love to have to experience. Not someone who gives 110 per cent every time he performs and seems to spread so much love and regard for others! Surely we can give him space to go deep and wide and produce something bloody brilliant? What deadlines are pressuring us so that we feel we have to push him so? I love your post, especially this part. Now we have UK people who are not his fans and are not working with Adam raving about the music they've heard. This makes me excited for him! It makes me feel like I want to let him know I'm pumped up about what UK people are saying about his music, and how fun that is, and to tell him how awesome his performance with Queen was for me as a fan. Okay, I want twitter to be fun to talk to, a fun place for Adam to hang, so he wants to play there more often. A place that makes him keep loving his fans so f*** much!

I know A LOT of fans in this fandom of all personality types, and I don't think I know ONE who wants new music purely for their "own stimulation." They want it because they are heavily invested in Adam personally and emotionally and only want the absolute best for him. Also, because we are so invested, we have been locked into a state of limbo and unknowing and I think most of us just want that to end and get the show on the road and hear all this fantastic new music he's been telling us about for MONTHS. would you rather he be silent during the process so as not to build expectations? I don't see myself as being in limbo while I wait for Adam's new album. Other artists I like are releasing music, I'm enjoying other activities in my life and time marches on. My life isn't centered around getting Adam's next album. I trust him when he says the wait will be worth it. how would he make you part of the ride though? It's his career and his vision. He keeps us in the loop as much as he can but we're outside observers of a bigger picture that I dare say 99% of us wouldn't understand even if we got the entire story. then those people imo should understand that art, true art, can not be rushed or put into a box. Then none of this should bother the fans IMO. Overinvestment is where the angst over these delays comes from IMO. Living day to day for Adam news or whatever is why some fans get nervous stomachs when there is no news or there is news they don't like. I take a zen approach to my fandoms. I can't change anything within the inner workings of my favorites career so I just sit back and wait for new music, whenever that comes to me. It's a double edged sword. The first album is rushed and because of that some brilliant choices can be made which work out wonderfully but on the flip side you get something that's not necessarily 100% the artists vision for themselves. On album #2 Adam gets to explore who he truly sees himself as artistically. This is the first time he's gotten to do that and it's important in the growing process for him as an individual and as an artist. It might not produce a "better" product but it'll produce one that Adam will feel truly showcases who he is and that's more important than a quick turn around IMO. I thought Adam was keeping us updated? Also what do you mean if it's not going to happen tell us? Do you think that Adam's not getting a second album? I don't think I get what you're implying.

Hi gelly, I really appreciate people who are worried because Adam is not established, and they are scared his fanbase will dminish. I must admit im worried if he doesnt have the songs that showcase his talent on his new album - thats why i want him to take his time (to a point). I want his stuff to go to number one! The people i dont get so much are those who are bored and want more stimulation from adam and want it now and then put pressure on him by acting like he's let them down somehow. that "aww you promised!" attitude. promises are made to be broken in the creative world cos the muse is fickle. She doesnt give under pressure. It would make his album worse if he allowd those people to pressure him I know A LOT of fans in this fandom of all personality types, and I don't think I know ONE who wants new music purely for their "own stimulation." They want it because they are heavily invested in Adam personally and emotionally and only want the absolute best for him. Also, because we are so invested, we have been locked into a state of limbo and unknowing and I think most of us just want that to end and get the show on the road and hear all this fantastic new music he's been telling us about for MONTHS. We want to be a part of the ride, not the little kids left at home being told, "It's not your turn yet." And also, many of us are artists, writers, musicians and professionals – or work or live with them closely and we "get" the creative process. Many of us have been working with it since longer than Adam has been alive. We also get legal entanglements, timing logistics and corporate mergers. We do not live in a vacuum where our only existence is to be a fan of Adam's. I've been listening to FYE for two years with very little fatigue; it is an excellent album that was written in a few months. Some of the best work is done on the fly for an artist – this is where instinct and guts take over and you don't have the luxury of second-guessing. Am I glad he's had this time to enjoy the process? Certainly. I just don't believe extended periods of time result in a better product. Many of these songs (we know by their working timelines) are written in a day or two, recorded in a day or two and finished up here and there. They are turned around very quickly on the average. Now, I do believe launching a worldwide marketing campaign takes a tremendous amount of time and logistics – not to mention meeting and greeting with tons of "gatekeepers" – PDs, editors and producers. That I totally understand. All I ask is that he keep us updated. If it's not going to happen, tell us. We've dealt with three different single delays so far. Were we frustrated, disappointed and crushed? Yes, for a few days, but we picked up and moved on and kept going. Taking forever to rip off the bandage does NOT make it better for anyone. I agree it hurts..but once the bandage is off the wound heals very quickly.. We aren't Adam's fans because we are the weak of heart.. It's been an exhausting ride ,but IMHO worth all the angsting, the fights with Perez, the sometimes nasty press, the gates.. My god it sometimes seems harder than raising my three children. Just kidding nothing was harder than raising my three children!I'm still here because I want to support the best singer &nicest evolved human to come along in a long time. I think Adam can't always tell us what's happening, half the time he doesn't know himself. But can you imagine if he told us about singing with Queen.. half of the world would have an opinion on who should front queen. He's walking a very fine line and he doesn't want us to give up on him... Geez how would we feel if we were in his blue swede shoes????
