I'm with Marie23. Longineau and Zac had some real talent and I missed them when they left. I'm ready to see a new band. OK - need a quick summary of the falling out between Adam and Monte. Somehow I missed all of that but figure it has to do with old recordings. Can someone bring me up to speed? [sigh] Monte apparently didn't see a problem with the release of the Citizen Vein stuff. Plus he's been vocal about wanting those songs released for ages. He loves the music, and is proud of it. According to Monte, he doesn't control the recordings and hasn't dealt with them in years. However, he encouraged anyone who wanted them, to purchase them at the same time Adam was vehemently against their release. There is no proof whatsoever that Monte has done anything to push this album to market or been involved in the skeezy marketing orchestrated by Welsford. But he's seemingly outwardly ok with it being available. (Why, I'm not totally sure as Monte isn't receiving the credit he deserves) Another wrinkle is that Welsford has apparently helped Monte in recent years with Monte's personal albums. Based on the fact that Adam stopped following Monte a week ago, there is strong speculation that a falling out has occurred. #quicksummary ETA: Or you can do what everyone above me suggested and just check out the old thread. Marie I really don't care who makes up the band just so long as they sound great behind Adam and they all feel like 'family' to him because he said that is very important to him. I want him to work surrounded by great people so he can feel happy and have lots of fun with all of us! I, also want him to have a set of earplugs custom made that work really well and that he gets the best sound man around! ;D I agree. Actually, I thought that the ear plugs he has are custom-made. Sound men are apparently harder to get right. I hope he gets whatever he needs to be happy!!! |

I wonder if there is something about the strength and pureness of his voice that makes it difficult for him to hear. I mean, when he was wailing on Sunday, I was imagining what it would be like to have that voice going directly into your ears. It's gotta be really loud, no? Where is cassie or keyboard. We need some technical answers here. I think I remember Kanadie explaining sonethingg about it once. |

Thanks to our lawyers and paralegals for your insight. I do understand that this lawsuit does not make any claims against RCA and the new work since June 2009 (FYE etc). My question was more: Let's say Adam settles the claim somehow and Welsford does keep his right: Does that then mean that Adam has this guy hounding him forever. Because Welsford can always re-release the same old stuff again and again....what needs to happen to actually shut this nonsense down once and for all? If Adam settles with this guy, the settlement agreement should cover both their rights going forward under the Music Services Agreement and the Co-Publishing Agreement. If the lawsuit proceeds to trial, the decision by the Judge or Jury will make that determination. Welsford is asking for a determination that he can do x, y, an z, and Adam cannot do a,b, and c. Most likely, if it progresses, Adam will counterclaim and seek a determination of his own that he can do a, b, and c and Welsford cannot do x, y, and z. Both sides in this dispute appear to have good counsel so one way or the other, it appears likely to end up resolved. |

thanks truetwo. Ah, so that is where those lawyers get to work it out, probably behind the scenes, as you say. But glad to hear that it is likely that this will be driven to a final resolution and not just one for the present round of BFM.
