news.lalate.com/2011/11/22/adam-lambert-lawsuit-response-set-for-january-exclusive/LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Adam Lambert’s response to the Colwel Platinum Entertainment lawsuit is due after the holidays, LALATE can exclusively reveal. Adam Lambert was sued by Colwel Platinum Entertainment Inc earlier this month. The Court has now set Lambert’s answer due by January 1, 2012. On November 15, Lambert agreed to “save the expense of serving a summons and complain in this case. I understand that I will keep all defense or objections to the lawsuit, the court’s jurisdiction, and the venue of the citation, but that I waive any objections to the absence of a summons or of service.” He also agreed “that I must file and serve an answer or a motion under Rule 12 within 60 days from November 2, 2011, the date when this request was sent. If I fail to do, a default judgment will be entered against me.” Read more... ??? :-[ Can one of you lawyer types please translate into simple english for us dummies? Also, maybe a really brief "This is good" / "This is bad" / "This is essentially meaningless" summary, so we can all then go back to the important squeeing at hand. This is nothing and is not new -- it was filed last week. Adam has until January 2, 2012 to respond to the CP Claim. It was signed by an authorized representative for Adam. That is all the filing is, his agreement to respond to the claim without being served with a summons. That also means nothing else will happen on this until January when Adam will most likely claim that the 2009 agreement with Malcolm exists and was legally binding. OR the universe will smile and they will put together a quiet settlement and Malcolm can crawl back under his rock. ---------------- Regarding the question about BFM chart placement -- it is essentially not selling -- #138 in music, #70 in rock on Amazon -- that is a few hundred units. For comparison Daughtry is #9 on the rock chart, #13 in music, Durbin is #29 on the rock chart (#57 in music). BFM is a sales miss

I am really late today. Quickly went through the thread and want to over the EW and RS articles!! I cancelled both of these mags after they started ignoring Adam. I guess if they continue to 'give him his due' I'll have to reconsider and get them again. ;D HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHERRIELLEN (alis ELLENW ) And CLEMATIS and LUZRNAZ I am really tired today so think I'll say good night! Oh! And I'd like to vote for just using the whole word TRESPASSING!! It has a real good sound to it! 8-)

Rihannsu - Thanks for sharing that! Besides all the great Adam news today, that's the second OT item that I would have missed out on if it weren't for this wonderful place. The other is the collab of Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton, which I have on repeat at the moment. Thanks again...

[snicker] Go you, girl, with the "redistribution" effort. ____________________________ Getting back to the topic of the Rolling Stone article, and the "now that I am [considering marriage], I can't do it" quote, I remember reading somewhere (hell, it might of been ATOP, I seem to do most of my news reading here these days!) that the National Immigration Service (NIS) is starting to NOT initiate cases with same-sex partners. If Sauli and Adam got married, its true they wouldn't have any of the normal Federal protections, but its becoming unlikely that deportation would occur if (heaven forbid), Sauli lost his work visa for some reason. I have wondered if Adam and Company could hire Sauli and be valid Visa wise... After all mom and brother work/worked for him so in the family. Any thoughts? That would probably not work. Sauli's best two options are to invest in a US business OR continue to report for a Finnish or other foreign media outlet. Both of these types of visas do not have a quota.

Just out of pure curiosity, could Sauli (or whoever) just enroll in the local community college and then ask for a student visa? And then just make sure they're enrolled in at least one class a semester? Even if its just a photography course or something?

As far as I know - an American firm wishing to hire a foreign citizen needs to show that they cannot find a comparable specialist inside the USA - this fact can be used as a basis for an H visa (may be some other type as well). Sauli qualifies for a specific job of course, but will the INS go for it? ?? Is that a new(-ish) requirement? I don't remember hearing that my dad had to prove he was the only possible person who could do the job before he was an American citizen. Admittedly, that was a long time ago, but he worked in the US for about 15 years before he decided to become a citizen. [laughs] And that was primarly because after all of us kids, he figured he wasn't going anywhere, bit the bullet, and took the test! It has changed a lot. Biggest changes happened in 2003. The US Tech companies have been battling for more visas for years.

ahem... the solution is for the boys to move north, where gay marriage is legal and federal protections extend from coast to coast to coast. ;D ;D I second that emotion.

The media visas are great. I think Sauli has no problem since he is employed by a Finnish media company -- he qualifies as a foreign correspondent.

Just wondering what Sauli is used to: what's the status of gay relationships/marriage in Finland?
