Things may change after the next election but the Obama administration has focused their deportation efforts on people who have committed crimes (about 50% of deportations in the past 12 months), people who do not have any family or ties in the US (solo workers who do not have Visa) and people who are unskilled. They are deporting record numbers of people but Sauli just doesn't fit the profile they are targeting.
If a social conservative is elected President, this could change. But hopefully that will not happen.

No. That would not meet the F1 Visa requirement. The media visas are great. I think Sauli has no problem since he is employed by a Finnish media company -- he qualifies as a foreign correspondent. He is? I thought his radio Alto reporting job was no longer... Was media company is he with? Radio Aalto and Iltasanomat belong to the same company - Sanoma Oy, which is (or at least was) the biggest media company in The Northern countries. Instead of the radio program he started again with the Tutka, when it became possible. Katri is so nice that she considers the time difference better than the people at the radio station.

ahem... the solution is for the boys to move north, where gay marriage is legal and federal protections extend from coast to coast to coast. ;D ;D [snerk] Canda is just a leeeeeeeeeeeeeettle cold for a So Cal boy! ;D [snickers] And Finn or not, Sauli has wasted no time in becoming a warm-weather critter himself! For someone who grew up near the Artic, Sauli complains more about the cold than Adam!! While Canada is not Southern California by any means it is also not entirely the frozen waste land some still seem to believe. There are three semi arid desert regions in western Canada, complete with Sagebrush, varieties of small cacti and rattlesnakes. Temps can reach 115 degrees F (+48C). We have many diverse wine regions in southern BC. We have white sand beaches, we surf, we golf nearly year round and we are home to Hollywood North. All just a two and a half hour flight from LAX. Just saying. Oh.... and we have palm trees too.....

But hopefully that will not happen. Just as I walked in from rehearsal this evening, I saw the republican debate[?] on and [can't think of the name now but the one with the nasty talk show years ago and the gay daughter I think] was arguing that if someone had worked and paid taxes for years [how do you do that when you are not legal?] and WENT TO CHURCH then you should get amnesty from deportation. Bachman disagreed... I am sure Sauli worries periodically...

Vancouver BC is great -- possibly the most beautiful city in the Americas. Of course, it is just not LA.
But if Adam ever decides to leave the US and live someone else, I hope he picks Canada.

There are currently 39 million legal temporary migrants in the US. The likelihood that Sauli is at risk of deportation is close to 0%. (There are also somewhere between 15 and 20 million illegal aliens in the US.) Not sure what the issue might be but there are many ways to stay in the US that do not require marriage. I have occasionally followed some Adommy crays in the twitter. They are trying to find out anything to get Sauli deported. One of them is an attorney. On Nov 4, she wrote: " I have a few friends in Calif, but there may be a confidentiality order. I doubt it, let me see "
