As for Tommy..... scroll if you stan him. I do not think that he had any significant reputation or professional experience as a guitarist prior to joining Adam's band. I have not seen or heard anything that impresses me with his musical talent. His bass playing was serviceable, but basic and uninspired. The few clips I have heard of his lead playing were, again, basic, and harmonically not very interesting. He really fumbled the ball on ACIGC, when a more accomplished instrumentalist could have picked up on the bass line more easily, even if the song was unfamiliar. IMO, Tommy will be cast in the next show because he has proven he can learn his musical part, he has the look that Adam wants, he plays well off of Adam, and he and Adam have a good relationship with some similar esthetics and attitudes. YMMV Here's  for the Back-up Band conversation, I agree with Cassie. My Hubby is a really good guitarist and this is one topic where I trust His opinion. I've shown Him youtubes of Monte & Tommy's guitar playing. He said Monte is a good guitarist, but He's nothing special. What was special about Monte as the lead guitar player was He knew Adam so well He knew how to pick up cues from Adam. Tommy plays base like a guitar player and Hubby said any decent guitar player should be able to switch to base and play it properly, and He doesn't. I'm hoping that Tommy is strong enough skill wise to learn the funk that is going to be on the new album. Hubby said the base player needs to be skilled to play funk, that it's an important part of a funk song. Tommy also gets lost during songs and has had to look at Monte to pick up His place in the song again. Tommy was hired not for His guitar playing but because He had the image that Adam wanted for His band. Tommy is a guy that got a lucky break when Adam hired Him and I think Tommy knows that. I give a lot of Credit at this point for Tommy being loyal to Adam, but that doesn't mean Tommy is a lead guitar player for a Solo Artist signed to a major record label. Adam isn't going to be playing in the local bars. I don't know Liz hardly. What happens if Tommy and Her break up. But hiring Her for base is a really bad idea. I saw Liz when She played with Allisan. Her guitar playing is servicable, but nothing special. The lead guitarist is usually up front where the other band members can see them and they take there musical cues from Him. While I like Cam the keyboard player is not front and centre. Trespassing is very important to Adam and I think and hope Adam will hire His band members based not only on the look He wants to create but on skill level. Adam needs a strong lead guitar player that is not only skilled but the other members of the band can take their musical cues from. The one thing I think Adam will miss is that He and Monte knew each other musically well. When Adam is in concert He likes to change up the song and the lead guitar player needs to keep up and direct the rest of the band. THIS ^^^^ I agree with your post lulu and cassie's. Someone on DDD forum, I think he's also a musician and like your husband knows about guitar player. I think it was "Sir", he said Adam needs to get a new guitar player. He said Monte is good but he's not a good lead guitarist. I agree about Tommy too, but the good thing about Tommy's he doesn't have any agenda. Maybe because he's so grateful he gets the job. With LP and M, you can tell they have their own agenda. LP's trying to gather as much as Glamberts to become his band's fans and M, well we know how he was. He got more solo time with Adam, which he couldn't get with Madonna and not sure if Madonna's fans would come after him to get his signature. While I would love to have a fresh and new line up for the band, but we all know Adam's very loyal to his friend. I hope he will keep Tommy for the rhythm guitarist and he will hire a better lead guitarist and base player. With this new music, FUNK and dubstep sound, a great base player will be needed. |

For me it's all part of the in-group, those people who are really his friends, who play along teasing him and teasing us at the same time. Loved Adam's tweet back with the O M G seperated by spaces. It was very nuanced. |

Honestly, I hope this time Adam will be more about his music on the tour, no more fanservice. I don't think I'd still be in the fandom if Adam was only about the music. Part of the concert I went to was all about the will he or won't he???? He didn't, too close to Utah lol. As long as the music is great too then I'm all for fan service like stairberts etc. |

But he looks so good in hats I'm thinking that magic would be a cool theme for a concert show, though. Smoke and mirrors, things that aren't quite what they seem, illusions falling away into #Realness... My imagination is running away from me :D |
