There seems to be ample supply of vaccine here in midlands U.K. Everyone I know in my ‘band’ and above has received - and my local surgery is well ahead of the national timescale, hoping to be at the 40-45 age group within a fortnight. I’ve had the first dose; the Oxford/AstraZeneca one - and was unwell when I hadn’t expected it at all. Within a few hours hours, developed headache, aching legs and uncontrollable shivers. But gone within 12 hours or so and well worth it. Somehow it was weirdly comforting to have proof it was having some kind of effect! - though I do know it means nothing. Just very grateful to feel hope for normality soon. I thought I read it was good to have a little reaction to the vaccine, even if it just a sore arm. It shows the immune system is responding. And yes, looking forward to normal!!

Glad to hear most of you only had minor issues with the vaccines! Germany was one of the lucky ones in the first wave a year ago. This winter on the other hand has been a complete mess. IMO they waited too long to react and tried to plead with the public to be careful and socially distant, when the numbers were rising and rising in October. Now since the end of January and Feburar the numbers have finally come down but since it has been several month since we are in some form of lock down the calls to reopen are so loud, even though the numbers are rising again. (Apparently due to the mutations). I'll be honest: I'm stressed about what the next few weeks will bring. I have some family living in Berlin and they're hanging in there, but their little daughter is really, really missing her kita friends. Here in BC, our numbers never did spike as we have been in a semi-lockdown for four months. Things are open, but we are not supposed to be socializing inside anywhere with anyone other than our household members. How is the new job?

We've Had a semi lockdown since November as Well. My theory is that waiting so Long to react an the Numbers being high it had already Developed a Momentum, a self dynamic where it was selfperpetuating. My new Job is good! Until now i've mainly worked on GIS, which is a whole differnt Kind of thinking. It's NOT intuitiv, as it is Called but i got into it. This week i'll be writing for a ecological Report on a Stream. Lol You're so Kind to ask!

Lol You're so Kind to ask! Had to look up GIS. Streams are very important here on the Island and have been damaged by logging, industry, urbanization, etc. Have you heard of the Pacific salmon life cycle? It is really interesting. The salmon spawn in streams and the fry head out to live in the ocean for years. Then they are able to come back to the stream where they were born to spawn and die. This happens in the fall and the wildlife gorges on the salmon run and drags salmon parts into the forest. The nitrogen from the decomposing salmon nourishes the trees. The whole thing is really amazing and it is spectacular to watch the salmon swimming against the current in great numbers. The salmon fishery is in trouble with fewer salmon returning and stream preservation is becoming more important. peninsulastreams.ca/

happy I do know about this cycle! It is very fascinating indeed! How they find their way back thousands of miles! DancyGeorgia We have ArcMap at our office. I work at a landscap planning office. It's been very interesting so far and I can't wait to digg deeper. Do you work with GIS as well?
