Cayman--you improve my quality of life! And I don't think I ever thanked you for the salsa dancing doggie vid from the other day. I showed it to my husband and I don't know that I've ever seen him so happy ;D! Our poor regular dog looked a little pale in comparison though :( (kidding, I love my doggie). Canine freestyle is a sanctioned competitive sport now- there are tons of videos around in many different styles. If you ever get the opportunity to attend a show that features it as an extra event, go. As with competitive obedience the misses can be as entertaining as the successes. Here are some of the best- www.canine-freestyle.org/zfame.aspUnfortunately, the videos there are downloads. Here's one on YT. We need an Adam song in the dog dancing world. Is there a dog that can do back bends and howl at the same time? My dog has a fabulous singing range and is very flexible. Hmmmm . . . .

Unfortunately, the ruling hasn't come down yet. There is an old article from 2010 that is being passed around. blogs.laweekly.com/informer/2011/12/prop_8_overturned_california_huffington_post.phpA Huffington Post article from August 2010 (and updated in May 2011) was littered all over Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and the rest of the Internet this morning. "Prop 8 OVERTURNED: Gay Marriage Ban Struck Down In California," reads the headline. Nope. yeah... sorry all! wasn't paying any attention to what I was reading... carry on angsting about the lack of news. grrr.

Good lord, I never thought I'd still be this far down the rabbit hole 2 1/2 years later and apparently lodged there permanently. ;D I'm reconciled to the idea that this is a lifelong situation, and I couldn't be happier. The only downside is my drastic reduction in productivity, but I'm dealing with it... Exact same situation here. ;D Hubby went back to work after we retired (thank goodness; gives me uninterrupted days to stan Adam), but I usually find myself running around the house about an hour before he gets home trying to make it look like I did SOMETHING during the day (although he knows better ). Fortunately, I'm very good at multi-tasking. Re: single Hasn't Adam been tweeting in the evenings or later recently? Maybe he'll tweet later this evening and we'll all have good news to wake up to tomorrow morning. Trying to be hopeful. Guess I'll get up during the night and check Atop.

Where did you see/hear this? Can't find it anywhere on the internet. Nope. For anyone interested: This is a pretty straight-forward update of Prop 8's current progress through legal system. sfist.com/2011/12/08/prop_8_returns_to_9th_circuit_this.phpIF things go as expected and IF (def an if) the US Supreme Court agrees to hear the case down the road, Justice Jackson has a very mixed record on related cases. I wouldn't get my hopes up personally but he has an interesting record and takes the law and fundamental civil liberties very seriously (unlike at least a couple of his colleagues). He does lean towards states rights. And MWP called me strange - hey, Adam says I should be proud to be weird!

OT, but I just received a Christmas letter from some good friends and this was the quote at the bottom of the page. I thought it was interesting and worth sharing (while we continue to wait) : "I have learned that faith means trusting in advance what will only make sense in reverse." ~ Philip Yancey

Hey, midwifespal, here's a message from Sam on his twitter! To the person who posted this unbelievably generous and kind comment about me on a forum: You made my year. Thank you. twitpic.com/7qoja4 He links to your post above. ETA: The Britney piece is extraordinary. It's worth your time. ;D ;D :D Just got on here! well, that's not quite true: I got on like an hour ago, saw this post by Aloha (thank you, babe ) and have been happily splashing around in the pool of good feelings it inspired since then and just now pulled it together enough to actually post something! You're all such sweetie-pies, getting excited with me, and I'm glad you're enjoying Lansky's work as I have been. I meant every word of it. I love it when smart people who actually listen to and enjoy pop music write about pop music. Why should that be as rare as it is? Aww, Jamie, well put, that's exactly how it feels. freelancing can be a pretty damned thankless job sometimes. I'm so glad Mr. Lansky is feeling all the glambert love! (and believe me, kiddo, in my imagination that's totally how it's going down. But in reality I'm way too shy and am blushing at the thought and crawling back into the safe and cozy confines of my internet-hovel!) ETA: And another link for you MWP!! :D twitpic.com/7qol28@samlansky Sam Lansky December 9, 2011 Since I have nothing better to do than troll forums looking for people talking about me, this comment = everything.
Just to be clear, this second post Sam Lansky tweeted about wasn't me--if I'm remembering correctly, it was LindaG23. :D OMGOMGOMG I saw that earlier but didn't click on the link because I thought is was the same pic with MWP's post. It is mine. To quote you MWP: ;D ;D :D I am going to have to make my monthly twitter post and tell him he's welcome and that I have been reading his pieces.
