I will not watch this year. I am not interested in most of the performers and nominees. Perhaps they are obsolete? Proof -The Weeknd, whose fourth studio album, "After Hours," garnered immense critical acclaim as well as chart success, received zero nominations. None!
Why? Following the announcement that he'd be performing at the 2021 Super Bowl halftime show, there was speculation that his snub was a result of his inability to also perform at the Grammys, which traditionally insists on exclusivity.
For those who don't follow the Grammys closely, his claim that there are "secret committees" involved in the voting process might have come as a shock; it might even have sounded like a conspiracy theory. But those committees are real—and they're just one strange, clandestine part of a voting process that is largely shrouded in mystery.
