Well, it's another slow day, and I can't say I'm excited about the trash pants! But, I've learned to come around and love a lot in the past year.
Tell me - has this happened to anyone else? I was instantly in love with 'For Your Entertainment', 'Trespassing', and 'The Original High'. Heck, I even loved the bastard album. But, when 'Velvet' came out, I just couldn't find a groove, an emotion, for most of the music. So, the album, for most of the past year, sat on the shelf - and I spent isolation reverting back to the life I had before Adam - before 2009 - listening to radio talk and watching television news. No art; no inspiration.
Back around 2012, while listening to Adam almost nonstop, I also started listening to Queen. At first, I just had the music on as a background, when I'd make frequent trips to Oregon (6 hour drive) to see my family. Then, there came a day when I realized "I LOVE THESE SONGS!" I learned every word and shouted them from the rooftops! Well, it's happened again!
Several weeks ago, I randomly put 'Velvet' on . . . no longer needing to (or wanting to) listen to the endless stream of news from a formerly dysfunctional government. I have become obsessed with this album! I don't know what I lacked in the past year; I heard these amazing tracks but felt listless. Now, I'm bopping around the kitchen, cleaning furiously, dusting with joy, and so, so proud of the artistry that is Adam Fucking Lambert.
I have no desire to watch the Grammy's; but I look forward to the next time Adam takes Pharaoh for a walk, or shows up, somewhere, in style - hums a tune; sings a song, smiles in make-up, bakes a pie, hosts his friends, hugs his Momma.
I'm inspired again!

Love Oliver's comment! I have Spotify, used to have Google play but they dropped that had to transfer to YouTube music. No problem. I watch YouTube quite a bit these days.
I'm hanging on Adam's every word and pic these days lol. Feeling more optimistic- weather is improving, vaccines going into arms I think we are getting there. Went to a local bar and grill for the first time in forever with my friend that's going through chemo. This is the best she has felt in a while. A good time was had by all!
Just waiting for more from Adam!

I'm inspired again! I think we're finally un-stressing from the trauma of the last 4 years. I hardly listened to any music at all for at least a couple of years. Today I spent about 2 hours on Youtube going from one Adam video to another. I feel refreshed. OTOH, I hardly ever fall in love with a song on first listen. It has happened, but not very often. Soaked was a love at first listen, There I Said It...there are a few. I need to time and repeats to let the song soak into my bones in its entirety...voice, lyrics, melody, beat etc. I wasn't that excited about Velvet originally, and there are still songs I don't really care about, but I've come to love Roses, Velvet (love the video), Loverboy, and the James Corden version of On The Moon. Didn't really love TOH until I heard the demo version...loved it!

It is interesting to hear of differing people's 'first listen loves'! I think my biggest SUPER fll's were Fever and Soaked, Shady and Closer to you. Then i started listing my ALMOST first listens and decided that was most of his catalogue so I stoped...lol

So, despite what I said, we are watching the Grammys and are actually enjoying it pretty much. I need to check out Harry Styles a bit more...
