Happy Monday ! What a fun weekend for my Adam obsession ! Goal: 20 lbs. week 1.5 lb. total : 5.5 I was happily surprised to have lost a pound and a half after a couple of treats last week. Yesterday the Culvers near us had a coconut almond frozen custard, and I am a coconut freak....oops, 2 scoops. Bad for diet, bad for blood sugar. But, today's a new day. I keep a bar of Ghiradelli Intense Chocolate for cravings, my favorite is the 86% cocao, called "Midnight Reverie". Gotta love the name - a small piece, let it melt on my tongue and I am all good. Good Luck everyone !

Week 4 check in....
Goal 10 lbs. This week -.5 lbs Total -3.5 lbs.
Very slow. In order to keep going I just tell myself when I hit a plateau like this that if I stick with it the weight loss will show up later. I do need to get back on track with exercise though, been slacking off.
This group really helps motivate me to keep going too, thank u!

Checking in; This weeks weight loss 1lb for a total Jan loss of 3lb's.
Before I get too excited and reach for a cookie I must remind myself that I'm only just back to my pre Christmas weight.
Congratulations to everyone who lost weight this week.

Week #3 Check-In: Goal=25 Lost 3.5 Total Lost 8 YAY! WOW, thanks everyone for the bread/chocolate tips! Weirdly enough, I STILL have some of that chocolate bark I made 10 days ago(?)--keep it in freezer and break off a little piece at a time--and because I KNOW how high-calorie it is (even though it's lower-carb), I'm careful. ALSO, I was on partial juice diet for 10 days (modified the old cabbage soup diet because I like the taste of that soup so much and I wanted a jump start for motivation)--and, like Ginger, it was AMAZING how much less I craved carbs after a week! I'd forgotten how that works! SO--new plan is to get some DARK cocoa and oatmeal (no bake cookies!) and a Trader Joe's dark chocolate bar next time I'm there--and until then, if I want chocolate, I'll just have to walk to the nearest store (1.2m RT ) for a bit of it! I will also get lowest carb rye bread I can find, for times when I just crave bread. All said, I'm happy to be getting back into the routine of a healthy diet. (Why the hell does it cost so much more though?? :-/) I think I lost more this week because of more exercise, too. I walked more--and I walked differently. I pushed it (remembered what hwc or someone said about panting=good), then rested. Pushed again, then rested. I don't know if I'm doing it right, but I'm happy with weight loss so far, that's for sure. Just dread the plateau, which I know will happen. I'll have to add some in-the-house aerobic-type exercise or something. I want to LOOK better and, more importantly, FEEL BETTER for BM and the Trespassing Tour! ;D LOVE THIS THREAD, btw. Cartoons made me LMAO, and I love reading others' experiences/advice. New favorite word: MINDFUL.

Week 4 check in....
Goal 10 lbs. This week -.5 lbs Total -3.5 lbs.
Well, I'm just glad I didn't gain because I fell off the wagon and pigged out for half a day. I have been more active and started an aquarobics class twice a week. It was fun. Just got to keep moving!! Also cooking more which helps, too!! Never give up!!

Check in time! Almost forgot with all the videos & interviews to catch up on. It's been a great Adam week! I lost another 3 pounds this week, so I'm down 8 pounds now. YAY!!! Clothes feel better & looser & I've got the motivation to keep going. I've really been sticking to this low carb diet, in spite of temptation. I've decided that if I'm gonna do this diet, I'm gonna DO THIS SHIT. Why put all this effort into it & then go eat some hi-carb thing I'm not supposed to that will undo everything??? It's not like I can never ever ever have another bowl of ice cream in my whole life! Once I take a little weight off, THEN I can have a few treats here & there. I'm just trying to think LONG TERM. I know this weight loss will slow down too. I'm preparing myself mentally for the week when I do everything right & lose 0 pounds. It's gonna be discouraging but I hope I can push through it! I'll just get on here & whine to ya'll about it & I'll feel better! CONGRATS to everyone on another great week! Hang in there! YAY US!!!!

You all are doing great. I've had another bad week so -0 for a total of -2. My knee has been acting up so I had to stop with the exercise bike. Made an appointment with a physical therapist but it wasn't until today so lots of time with nothing but hand weights and crunches. I know that several of us have knee issues so I'll post some of the rehab exercises now and then. Big congrats to everyone who made it to and past the 5 pound mark for the month!

Tuesday - Leg Lift with outward Rotation
Fancy sounding name right? This is for rehabilitating and strengthening your knee, it won't burn many calories.
Lay on flat surface, bend left knee. Flex right foot backward (ie pull toes toward you) Rotate right leg until toe position is between 1 and 3 o'clock Lift right leg slowly 1 foot in air and back down keeping knee straight Repeat
I'm to do this 20 times a day for each knee and works on the inner thigh muscles and tendons.
If you have strong knees you can hold the position in the air for 30 seconds to a minute instead of doing the up/down motion.
