Check-In Goal 25lbs. Week#5 -0 = -8T
ARGHH! Plateau is here...2 weeks in a row of 0 loss--but at least I haven't gained any back! I know what I have to do...eat a little less and exercise MORE to get back on the losing trajectory. So that's what I'll do!!

Jablea... :)appreciate your leadership and taking the time to think about each of us! Sugaree...reading my mind... I bought some cod last week ...first time in a zillion years, as I usually buy sole or halibut, as I thought cod had a strong flavour. But my local market person encouraged me to try it as there was no fresh sole in. It was great. So I bought some more cod and some mango salsa from Costco (which I rarely shop in...but sister was in town and she just had to go!!). The salsa has Zero fat and 3%sodium. I will try my cod and salsa tomorrow, as tonight is DINNER OUT (with close friends)! Not exactly DATE NIGHT..but it works for us. Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!

Checking in; I'm glad I forgot to check in yesterday as I was 1 pound heavier than today. I'm good weekdays then at the weekend like a glass of wine or two. So 1lb weight loss this week that's 4 lb total and another 4 to go. Half way! Yay!
I don't feel fat jiggling when I walk any more!
I like to cook what I usually do for all the family but try to cut down on calories by using less butter, low fat cheese, milk, cream and non stick spray and watching portion size for myself. I know long term this is the only thing that works for me. When I was single I could lose weight by sticking to strict diets when living on my own but it just comes back once I went off the diet. I'm losing weight slowly and feeling satisfied with smaller portions.

JanuarySnow, I feel for you. Trying to lose weight during the winter is hard enough without it being frigid. Can you do any warm liquid diets like soup? Put it in a coffee mug and use it as a hand warmer at the same time? Are you like me with work projects, sometimes I'm just shaking to get something in my mouth when the unexpected raises it's head. Thank you! I certainly can try warm liquid diet, just need to find some simple recipes, not a big soup-maker, have just a couple in my arsenal :-/ And yeah, I can't work without chewing something to help concentrate, trying to break the habit but to no avail yet :-[

Stardust, have you checked for a battery in your scale. My scale was doing the same thing, and I never realized it had a battery. I was on my way to buy a new scale when I happened to turn it over and saw this little plate on the underside of the scale. I pushed it open and lo and behold, there was a battery in there. OMG, I sound like a Miss Know-It-All this morning. Sorry. I will stop now. Didn't think about that but it says battery not replaceable and its like 18 yrs old, so maybe I need to replace the scale.

good news ! Finally got the glucose readings where they need to be this week. I had been adjusting insulin for a month. I am sure the healthy eating Is helping too. The yoga mat I picked up last weekend is still in the wrapper. :(. Must schedule time for exercise I guess. JanuarySnow, love your AVI ! We've had a relatively mild winter here in "Minne-snow-ta. But I understand the need for warm food in winter. Some days when your cold it's hard to not just want to curl up with a blanket and comfort food. Mid week Team Trepass cheer ! Good luck everyone !

Oops. Late checking in. Been caught in a storm all week....an Adam Storm. 8-) Difficult to keep up and too tempting to sit at the computer all day!! No change this week for me. I can't believe I haven't lost my resolve, especially sense it isn't working very well. I'm not gaining so I guess that's a good thing but I would have thought cutting out potatoes, rice, bread, pasta, all things with sugar and/or flour should make more of a difference. I've just become too sedentary. I don't have any physical problems so I know that if I don't start "using it", I'm going to lose it. The ability to exercise, that is!! I'm not good about birthdays on the news thread but just want to say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, IRISH.

Finally, those ounces caught up, and I lost 4.4 lbs this week for a total of 17.6. Can that be right?
I have to go back to the beginning and add. Are we really at the end of our 7th week? Beginning of the 8th. Where does the time go? I still haven't gone off the diet one minute. Sometimes I wonder who I am channeling. You would think I could do this once and keep all the weight off. I have been dieting since I was 16, and have lost several grown people over the years. Foolish thing to do. Maybe in my 60's I can get down and stay down. I can only hope.
All of you having trouble: All I can tell you is "I have no answers to weight loss, and keeping it off." For me, I think I can never go off a diet. Once I start eating bread, desserts, frozen yogurt, cookies, all is lost. I've gained weight faster than I ever lost the weight. I'm not talking about pigging out on those things either. I am talking about just including a bowl of yogurt at night or a piece of cake or pie. If I ever pigged out like I wanted to, I would weigh 300-400 pounds easily. I had 3 brothers, 2 of them and myself always looked like fire hydrants, and we all had to watch what we ate. I still believe genetics play a huge role in your weight and weight loss.
Stay focused. My only advice.

Monday - Check in day
irish, I agree that genetics must play a big role in how good of a "keeper" you are. That's what we used to say about horses and if they were able to keep the weight on them with less food.
I think for your weight loss you've got a great support system in your hubby even though he grumbles. I've got four people in the house right now and unless we go to a restaurant there hasn't been more than two people a night who have the same meal.

Goal: 20. This week -3. Total -11 Another busy, stressful week. I am sure everyone can relate, our lives are too busy these days. Usually rushing to be ontime, and squeezing one more thing in the schedule, constantly. It makes it hard to plan healthy meals. But, I am trying to make healthy changes, that stick. Trying to make one healthy change everyday, even a small positive change. Adam moving the album date back means I will probably make my goal. Trying hard to be patient with the weight loss and Adam's artistic delays, lol Like everyone, I want this album soooo bad. Irish, great advice. "Stay Focused" We have to remind ourselves of what we want often, and make it a priority. Good luck this week everyone ! And, don't forget to give yourself a pat on the back for the positive changes you've already made.
