HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSLALA AND SNAPPIE![/b]  (and J, thank YOU for that ~lovely A pic! and your avi. Have I told you today how much I love it, lol?) And Craazy4adam, lmao at the last line of your last post! Gettin' a little irritated are we? J/K! No good deed goes unpunished! Since Adam said he's thinking about which charity for his birthday, I haven't tweeted him about it. Never want him to feel that his birthday includes an obligation to choose one. He will do it or he won't, and if it gets down to the wire (like the 27th or so) and he's made no suggestion, then I'd be up for some kind of collective drive, because maybe Adam would just like to enjoy his bd without worrying about anything other than promo right now. Juniemoon, nobody has ever been banned here for an unpopular opinion and ya just gotta accept that one of those will lead to lots of responses, which are pretty civil at Atop, IMO. I get what you are saying about "uncomfortable feelings"--I got those, too, but only because of entitled fans who bitched about not being thanked (minority, thankfully.) But then I thought FUCK 'EM. People who contribute to charity and expect a thank you AT ALL are doing it for the wrong reason and who cares about them. I'm absolutely fine with Adam naming a charity--or with him not. Everyone, including him gets to do what they want! I still want to know who donated to Charity:Water in my name last year. Who? Well, to that person, I say your donation not only helped someone get clean water AND helped Adam fans reach the goal BUT ALSO made me feel like a million bucks. I mean it. It still makes me feel wonderful a whole year later! Lots of bangs for your bucks, my unknown friend! Tattoo--my question is will we ever again be allowed to see the top of ADAM'S right thumb?? What with long sleeves and fingerless gloves, it could be months before we catch a glimpse again. I mean according to twitter, they WERE going to both get finger tattoos. (I asked Byron to ask him about tatts...) And Lifeguard, LMAO--THAT'S MY KIND OF CLEANSE!  The pics from last night, the promise of interviews and Flaunt cover?????? Be still my heart.  |

juniemoon: Love ya, sweetie. You don't post that often, but when you do, it is always thought provoking. BTW, I listened to the OOL Angelina program with you reading your blog. Gawww, that was beautifully written. Cathedral music..... what a perfect description. I vote that you keep on putting down your thoughts and sharing them with us.
For me, the discussion provided an "Aha!" moment for me that I should have thought of long ago. When I watched The Talk interview it was obvious to me that the ladies were setting up an opportunity for Adam to brag about the successful birthday campaign for Charity:water, and Adam's mind just didn't go there; he took it literally as "how did you celebrate your birthday". I admit I was a little taken aback.
Now, I see it from a different perspective. For we dedicated, obsessed Adam fans, Adam is on our mind throughout the day every day. Chances are some event/experience in our day will trigger an immediate connection to something Adam. For myself, I probably spend more time on Adam 'stuff' than even thinking about my job or playing with my dogs (they are incredibly patient with me, but might bite Adam in the leg if he ever came over, in retaliation for me ignoring them in favor of Adam).
In contrast, Adam probably is NOT thinking about his obsessive fans repeatedly throughout the day. His obsessive thoughts are probably on his new music, his promotion of that music, his upcoming appearances, interviews, and performances, his HOT boyfriend, his business concerns, his new clothing, what look to employ for the photo shoot, whether he picked the right songs for the album, whether he picked the right album cover, where to take Sauli for dinner that they won't get mobbed...... etc. etc. etc. In other words, Adam has a rich, full, very busy life, and doesn't feel a compelling need to communicate with his fans every day, even if we have a compelling need for him to do so.
Issues that I, as an obsessed fan, want Adam to address and share with us are MY issues, not his. I try to keep at the forefront of my mind that Adam has been very generous, very giving, very open, and incredibly tolerant of his fans; I need to appreciate what he gives to us, and not get caught up in what I want from him. Yes, I am totally zen.
Just one little thing: I WANT MUSIC NOW. I WANT WORDS NOW. I WANT VIDEO NOW. I WANT PICTURES NOW. But, that doesn't mean I am a demanding, entitled fan, right? Right? RIGHT?

Just a happy day. I'm at work, on this blog as much as possible, and have a big smile on my face. WONDERFUL pictures, happy boys, upcoming interviews, emotional BTIKM ...what more can we ask for? (LOL that's rhetorical... I know we could ask for, want, more!!!)
