Thanks syca and marionm, for reminding me about the obvious fact that this tour had very little promo beyond the fan base Makes me feel a bit better. It's such a enjoyable show! Hope the San Diego show has better attendance, along with the Vegas shows and Hollywood. It would be great to see the tour end on a strong note.

I think Rancho Mirage sold pretty well, especially the reserved seating further up, but overall ticket sales could be better. I am not playing the “blame game” here, but let’s be real and look around … How many original fans who have known about this tour chose to not buy tickets? I myself have “concert buddy” friends who decided not to go for various reasons - cost, Covid, effort, other plans…Thats the reality. It used to be different. In the meantime, Adam is killing it and his voice is better than ever! Fingers crossed for new fans to come aboard in Vegas. Can’t wait to be there!
(btw. I would have not made this comment if there hadn’t been a conversation already)

I'm not a concert goer to begin with, but there's no way in hell I would go to a concert with a ton of strangers right now...Covid is still around...I've even put off going to the mall and let me tell you, I need new clothes desperately. I'm just now starting to go to a restaurant every so often. It's also expensive to travel to concerts, lots of people watching their pennies. So agree with your comment, Sizzling.

Let me just say, nothing that follows is intended to imply that QAL has been anything but good for Adam. It has brought him a great deal, both personally and professionally. However, the non-QAL side of his career has been a bit more challenging for him. His fans know everything he's been up to, and some of it has been quite high profile, but the high profile stuff has mostly been one-offs (the Oscars, Kennedy Center Honors, etc.). It has been a long time since he's had any kind of sustained exposure in the United States. For his fans not into QAL, his output of original music over the years has been, shall we say, less than prolific, and with the exception of "Ghost Town" and, to a lesser extent, "Superpower," the material on the last two albums has remained basically unheard beyond the core fanbase motivated to seek it out (even the "Trespassing" songs faced challenges in that regard). He doesn't have the kind of back catalog that can keep him heard and in people's minds between projects. If someone isn't into QAL, or hasn't remained a committed fan, it's been easy to forget about him. People are going to concerts, Covid and inflation be damned; I'm unconvinced those things have much to do with how Adam's concerts have been selling. These shows definitely, 100% needed more promo. I'm very happy to see the opportunities Adam has gotten in the UK, but hope Shosh and Team!Adam are able to get him more U.S. projects, too. If he's heard and seen, he's appreciated and enjoyed. The more that happens, the better for him. And for those of us who stan him.

I don't know which concert Demi cancelled but she is playing pretty much the same size venues as Adam this time and she has had many radio hits. For me, I'm not into the heavy Halloween makeup and big baggy costumes (glad that others are tho) so would not pay that much money and travel across the country for the experience. But if Adam came within several hours of me, I would go. I traveled 6 hours and paid a small fortune to see him with QAL pre pandemic, lol. It was wonderful with great outfits, lighter makeup (he was gorgeous) and stellar performance as always. I would travel that far for something like the early Velvet concerts pre pandemic. Loved the stunning outfits, his band and the backup singers. Was so excited about that era before it ended. Even tho these latest outings, starting with the last Vegas show, are not for me, I still wish him great success. It is one version of Adam that many enjoy. And he changes up in different eras so there is something for everyone. Always Adam no matter what visual style but enjoy some versions better than others. And I would still pay a fortune to see him but just not for a Halloween theme show. Still love that other fans love it and will attend and he has not had to cancel. Rocketing costs and drop in ticket sales force musicians to pull tour datesMusicians are cancelling concerts and entire tours because the rising costs of staff and materials coupled with a drop off in ticket sales is making them too expensive to run.Earlier this month, US band Animal Collective cancelled forthcoming European dates as“not sustainable”. Within days, the UK downtempo producer Bonobo called time on future live shows in America, describing them as “exponentially expensive”. Then electronic musician Tourist rescheduled a US stint, saying “sometimes tickets just don’t get sold”. These announcements follow cancellations from acts including Santigold, Demi Levato, Poppy Ajudha and Mercury prize winner Little Simz. “Every week we see another act cancelling a tour. It’s not a decision people take lightly,” says Sybil Bell, founder of Independent Venue Week. “It’s such a tough time and the production world is being decimated.” www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/rocketing-costs-and-drop-in-ticket-sales-force-musicians-to-pull-tour-dates/ar-AA13gOcg?li=BBnbfcL

There hasn't been a whole lot of promo for this tour though. How are people supposed to know it's happening? I'm not sure how other artists with venues this size promote, but I did get several emails from Live Nation including him in a list of performers coming to my area, plus the San Francisco radio station Star 101.7 was giving away tickets every morning so they mentioned his concert. He did get on a couple TV shows: JHud and the Extra show. All of the venues he was performing at did promote him on twitter and Facebook. I'm not sure what else he could have done but maybe buy ads. I was disappointed in Oakland by the sales, and surprised because he hadn't been up here solo since Glam Nation (and that sold extremely well). It can't be that radio singles still make that much difference, but I can't think what else it could be??? It really must be radio, as radio hit artists are filling arenas, and I can't figure out why after I attend some of their shows lol. I would also think that those who attended the Queen shows would be interested, but that didn't seem to happen. Maybe if the Queen accounts had advertised his shows? Not really their job though.

Ok, I also want to add that, like others, I'm not a huge fan of the halloween theme. I did attend a couple of his shows in Vegas last year, but this year I wasn't willing to fly for what I expected to be a similar show. I was so happy that he performed in Northern CA (first time since Glam Nation unless you count a couple radio things)! And I did my part by purchasing 8 tickets to the concert - I brought a couple newbies who loved it. And I upgraded my ticket and had to sell the first one for a loss of about $100.
But for Glam Nation, I bought 8 tickets and could have purchased 30, so many friends and family wanted to go back then. Most of my friends have lost interest for a variety of reasons, I think mostly because most people my age aren't as into pop music.
There was a time when I would HAVE to see multiple shows in an Adam tour, and I have. But this time I was satisfied with 1. I guess other fans are like that too.

svca , thanks for agreeing that it is important to do a "reality check". I cancelled Vegas last year as I was too worried about Covid. This year, I decided to go for it as I got the bivalent booster a few weeks ago, plus it's an early birthday present to me. But we all have lives to live and decisions to make. marionm , I think you should definitely check out the videos. While you as a QAL concert goer know that they don't do the overall concert experience justice, you should get a good sense of it all. I saw your post the other day and thought to respond generally here about my Adam experience. My fan heart is definitely re-charged and re-energized haha. Always good to see you checking in. I hope all is well otherwise

I would have not made this comment if there hadn’t been a conversation already) It is...and has been throughout Covid...really difficult to get to a concert. I was really lucky to have JustKaren reach out and make it feasible for me to attend the Wheatland show [which, by the way, was amazing and pretty full]. My time in the Sacramento area and at the show was wonderful. My flights, both ways and on two different airlines, were horrendous. The flight there was the worst but not by much. The flights are overpriced...the one there, on Alaskaair...was ridiculous and by the time I arrived, I had clocked almost 10,000 steps on a day I was supposedly sitting on planes and in waiting rooms. NOT. Airport staff are overworked and hence, mean and nasty. $4.00 for a bottle of water the next security person takes from you and throws away, even though it was bought after going through the first level of security. Less than 10% of people in the airport [closer to 5 or 6%] workers and passengers, were masked! No time to eat, let alone find a safe place to remove the mask to eat... Planes are completely full... It is honestly no surprise that folks are playing it safe...the mask issue is so politicized now that folks are embarrassed or afraid to even mask up....so those with any health issues at all are pretty much forced to stay home. THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC AND JUSTKAREN WAS TRULY KIND AND FUN....so I am so glad I took the plunge and went. Who knows how long it will be before I can do something like that again. It is a mean world out there in the travel world...

I hope all is well otherwise I got the bivalent booster in September (my 5th COVID shot) and then got COVID (for the first time) 11 days later, UGH. I know of someone else who also got COVID right after getting that booster. I think it was just random though - in my case, I believe I got it because I decided to go for it and travel again overseas, probably from the travel though I did mask much more than others. But I will say that my positive line was faint (tho it was there) and my symptoms were very mild. I do have friends who are still reluctant to be in crowded places. And many of Adam's fans are older, and should probably be more cautious.
