Good thing for James that he'll be in the bubble and unable to speak after this week because his shitty attitude won't do him any favors.

www.tvguide.com/News/Idol-Top-13-1030338.aspxJames Durbin is over the Adam Lambert comparisons: "I'm kind of tired of answering that question. We're completely different people stylistically, tone-wise. The only similarity that we have is the high note. ... He put his foot in the door; I want to try and put my foot straight through the door. He did some rock, I liked it. I want to do some metal like Iron Maiden, ACDC, Ozzy, Sabbath." Just what will he do when he gets the same question another 100 times.. patience is a virtue.. js. So there is actually a bar called "fubar" Why wouldn't Adam be at the Idol party.. there were far odder attendees there.. Would have made more sense for Adam to be there.. I agree with everything everyone has said, but I also think James is young, artless, has had a rough life, and doesn't have the social skills needed to be more in control of what image he projects of himself or to even hear what he sounds like. I'm rolling my eyes at him, but I'm also cutting him some slack, at least at this point. Separate from the whole Adam thing, I'm not sure he has the emotional depth to handle what's about to happen next. But if Idol is serious about working with this year's contestants to be ready to be whole package performers, maybe someone will mentor all of them on this sort of thing. I agree about James. I didn't like him at all in the beginning, probably because of the Adam comparisons, but I think he did a pretty good job this week - he kinda surprised me. With his problems, I can't imagine he's gonna be able to handle the stress of it all. Bless his heart - I give him an A+ for the effort.

I hope this comes across how I mean it... I haven't watched AI, so I haven't observed this James myself; however, I have pretty strong feelings about giving people who are in this type of competition a pass because of some physical or mental problem. If you choose to compete, then you should compete on an equal footing with everyone else. Some reasonable consideration such as helping a blind person find their mark on the stage is one thing, but i come down to how well do you sing and how well do you present yourself as a performer? Part of what I dislike about Idol (and why I do not watch it) is all the backstory/sob-story stuff. I am not interested in that - show me how well you can sing. The absolute worst case of this was on DWTS when they had the woman with the false leg. Yes, she certainly was able to do far more than I would have expected with her disability, however there were much better DANCERS who were sent home before her just because the voters (and the show's judges) were saying/thinking "It is amazing what she can do with a handicap" - while that is true, that is NOT what the purpose of the show it. If someone chooses to compete on one of these shows with a handicap, then they should also have to perform at the same level as those who do not in order to do well on the show. I realize that the "voters" obviously do not agree with me but this crap highlights for me why I dislike these shows. ITA ^^^^^Thank you ..

It was hard to see the band members through the smoke, but I did catch a quick glimpse of Tommy and I assume Monte was there too.

I love it when he curls his toes at 1.35!! Do you think they're documenting this album also?? I'd buy it ;D I love the part at 2:05+, how he just lounges or whatever on that blue chair, his shirt all crunched up *cuuuuuute*

And he's already getting impatient with the comparisons (which he brought on)? Wow : exactly. He invoked Adam's name for attention and now he wants people to stop comparing them? : Then he sang A Change is Gonna Come with the lyric change that Adam did in the Finals!!

I'm okay with that too.
