For those who couldn't listen, the reasons why we're all pissed: 1. Ryan didn't talk almost at all about the music - although Adam very cleverly brought it up himself on a related question, in the beginning of the interview. 2. Ryan's first bit was him bringing up how the Glamberst are NOT hip 20 year olds as one would expect, but older women who get smashed at Adam concerts and see him as the embodiment of Elvis. Cue radio interview with a group of women after one of Adam's concerts. 3. Ryan's second bit was bringing up the Finland brawl (which, you know, whatever, I don't mind that much) and saying that Sauli is the winner of Idol Turkey. 4. Ryan never played BTIKM on air. That pretty much sums it up. So. Since we're expressing ourselves honestly this morning (#realness) -- YES. FUCK YOU RYAN SECREST. I have always thought Secrest was a repulsive tool. As some of you know, I am not an American Idol fan and never saw Adam on Idol. I did get sucked into Idol the next year after Adam's laser-y appearance singing WWFM and watched the rest of the season. I will never forget how Secrest told Lee Dewyze he was safe and then tried to make Lee guess which of the remaining candidates had lost. The look Lee gave him -- appalled and disgusted -- said it all. I also feel kind of sick about what Secrest apparently said about us. You guys ... I have been working on a new essay about Adam's dress and new image. In the essay I compare Adam's choices with choices made by previous icons. Bowie, Elton John, and yes, Elvis. I explicitly compare Adam to Elvis. So what now? Do I just kill myself or what? Is knowledge and appreciation of music history prior to 2002 worthy of dripping contempt? Maybe I will publish the essay with the title FUCK YOU RYAN SECREST AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON. I don't extend the same "eff you" to all American DJs, by the way. Just Secrest, for now.

This week has been so wonderful - Leno (w/great reviews), Ellen, interviews so we can hear Adam saying words, which we love, and some really nice pics this morning. Life is good.
ETA: And looking at that M&G greet pic - may I say I just LOVE the eye contact he has w/people when he is talking to them. I was fortunate enough to experience a tad of that in Houston at the barricades after the concert. That beautiful face and sweet smile just about did me in. Don't even remember the drive home!

You may be right mys*&@^#r, but how much attention should he give to a station that most likely will not be adding his single? And I'm sure RCA knows this. Perhaps, they should have waited to do something with KIIS until album drop time.
I'm really trying to have faith that Adam's new management knows what it id doing and has a good plan. I am glad that Adam is giving attention to some of the stations that are supporting the song right now with his other interviews today.

Did Ryan just call Adam the winner of American Idol?? LOL I'm at work and didn't hear the interview. Was this meant as a joke, or did Ryan actually slip? For fuck's sake, he's the one who ANNOUNCED Kris' name during the finale!! It wasn't how he introduced him or anything...it was just a slip. ryan and his sidekick were babbling about rats or something before the interview (I wasn't paying strict attention) and ryan said something like, "oh so now you want to tie this to adam lambert, the winner of american idol"!

I would not have felt bad or been surprised if Adam didn't do KIIS at all. And that is my home Pop station. If they haven't played his last 2 songs, then Fuck em! I was hoping he'd do the premiere for Z100 or Q102. But as we all know, there really was no big radio premiere. We don't need KIIS LA. Adam has doen fine without them so far! Well, as I said earlier, I know Adam will have more than one really big single from this album and KIIS will have to play him.

Adam is also going to be on ALICE 97.3 in San Francisco at about 830. You can listen live, they're talking about it now. This is the one station in the area that plays BTIKM pretty often. radioalice.radio.com/And Alice is proud of being the first. Maybe that's why Adam is there and just "calling in" to Ryan. Chasing den, Im glad you shared your perspective. It rings true to me. Much of what Ryan has been associated with *coughkardashianscough* and Idol to some extent are sinking fast, and the feeling of losing power with his personality must be galling. Adam is such a transcendent talent and super interview, anyone who doesn't exploit that shows their own stupidity. JMO
