Trespassing has already received critical acclaim from the UK. Unless the two sides of the pond are total opposites in musical tastes I expect critical acclaim from more music critics in the US. That could possibly mean more to Adam than reaching top 10 on radio. Idk. But high praise for the album here could also spur radio play & sales.
It's not over til the fat lady sings.
Oh and I forgot to flail over the album cover. I LOVE it!

Debbie Downer does not begin to describe how I view the doomsday scenarios. Not to criticize other posters, but JFC, why when faced with "what ifs" do some people always choose the worst possible outcome. Claim you are being realistic if you want, but my reality aims for a happier place.I've left twice to regroup, but I think I'll live in la la land for the rest of the day. I've been accused of being a Pollyanna, but it sure as hell beats being Chicken Little. I really thought the cover art high would last a little longer. One reason I hate when the screen widens for a pic and I have to choose between seeing the entire post or seeing the person posting is there are a few who I remember even from PF who are always prepared to rain on any parade that is passing by. Delete me if you must, ban me, whatever, but I'm going to my happy place. My feelings exactly. None of us knows what's going to happen. I'd rather be optimistic. It feels better. Oh I like that!!! Thanks for the good idea. I just want a mega album with great reviews -- and I do not care about the way they get there. But I know that he has done it.

I've been sitting back and reading all the post. I'm not going to get worried or upset about BTIKM and it's numbers. I love the song, I'll listen to the song, and I'll anxiously wait for the album so I can have more Adam music to enjoy. I'll wait for Adam's Tour where I'll be able to experience his bringing all the songs to life with his energy and talent!! I don't care what this Toby guy thinks...but I don't like people who have agendas and try to deceitfully stir up trouble. I don't trust or put any weight to what they say....and I won't fall into their trap once I figure them out. They will be ignored by me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KHARDT and MAGPIE86!!
[/size] And GELIKINS so glad you de-lurked! The Trespassing Cover...just all kinds of PERFECT!! 8-)

I personally am not worried about the single yet...but it's the cries of doom from certain peeps that have worn me down into a tiny disgruntled nub. I wanna cry WELL IF IT SUX THAT MUCH WHY DON'T YOU GTFO OUTTA THIS FANDOM THEN?!?!?! Debbie Downer does not begin to describe how I view the doomsday scenarios. Not to criticize other posters, but JFC, why when faced with "what ifs" do some people always choose the worst possible outcome. Delete me if you must, ban me, whatever, but I'm going to my happy place. Put me in the Pollyana camp ( a realistic Polyanna's) - Chicken littles irritate me There is nothing wrong with people having different slants and personalities (makes the world wonderful and interesting) but angsting (as opposed to realism - I don't think they are the same ) is like poison - like putting a drop of ink into a cup of water, it colours everything and brings on a sense of hopelessness which then robs joy - I am not talking about realistic discussion, I am talking about doom and gloom scenarios and ALWAYS panicking an LOOKING for the negative . I think IMO today's discussion here has been great

Well, I think that it is part of our human nature to obsess and worry and project worst case scenarios. I remember reading some article that said that the "glass half full" and "glass half empty" folks actually had different wiring or chemicals in their brain. I know that this tendency to worry and perseverate tends to run in one side of my family. Fortunately it is balanced by a positive outlook on the other side, so I can usually keep an even keel.
I don't think it is helpful to tell a worrier not to worry. For every positive point you make, they have a counter argument. However, I do believe that one can, to a certain extent, tell oneself not to worry. One can choose, when those thoughts arise, to set them aside and think of something positive. One can choose to act in positive ways. Not meaning to preach or scold. But, I find that when I am surrounded by people ragging on things, complaining, and worrying, I fall into the pattern. If I walk away and go to my happy place (usually listening to Adam's voice and playing with my dogs), I feel much better. And the more I engage in positive thinking and imaging, the more it becomes a habit.
For me, it does not help to think of all the negatives in order to prepare myself in case I am disappointed. If the disappointment comes, it is not lessened by my being "prepared." So, I may as well take a positive approach. It will make the two months of waiting for the album release much happier. I firmly believe I am gonna love the album even more than FYE. I am enthusiastically anticipating being blown away by OOL and Underneath, and dancing my butt into a smaller size pair of pants to several of the other tracks. It's gonna be fun.

BTIKM went from 997 to 841 on iTunes since this morning. I know - doesn't mean much in terms of sales but it's going in the right direction!
