My opinion- Adam fans going to a site that is known for kicking Adam to the curb and stomping on his head over every little thing can expect to leave there all doom and gloom and the sky is falling.
I liken it to an alcholic going into a bar and thinking they're not going to be affected or not fall off the wagon completely. Why visit those poisonous sites?
And if some PD gleefully does his little passive-aggressive negative Adam scenerio, why give it so much weight and attention that it buries all the good writeups and opinions. ??? I refuse to let these doomsayers dictate MY feelings. 8-)

Most of my life, I've had a tendency to believe that if I imagined something, it would never happen. So if I was looking forward to a TV show, for example, I'd imagine anything that could happen that would prevent me from seeing it--a power outage, a breaking news story that would preempt it, a personal emergency, etc. It's funny because many people seem to believe exactly the opposite. They think that the way to make something happen is to imagine it happening.
Well, I've found the truth to be that the universe doesn't revolve around me or anyone else. Things happen randomly, or because someone took action, but nothing results from mere thoughts. I'm not being optimistic about Adam's chances of success because I think my thoughts can make it happen. I'm being optimistic because I hate the feeling of being pessimistic. Since no one knows for sure what will happen, I choose to believe what makes me happier. I refuse to let uncertainty raise my blood pressure. Que será será.

I think I remember some music guy saying that the plan Adam's label had for promoting Trespassing was going to be mega. Does anyone remember this? Yes, it was Toby who said that. But its obviously mega, if all of the international/US press is anything to go by. BTIKM seems to be getting its start. And please ppl, don't be going on about another single, this barely had a start yet to even be declared dead. :/

Since we're being divided into Debbie Downers and "those who look on the bright side" I guess I'll be put in the former category. I don't wanna be there but I think I am. Cause I have one more negative thing to say - I'm getting tired of the criticism of the DD's and the lecturing. As I said in an earlier post - we're all different here & we all bring something unique to the table. I hope we (the DD's) are not being chased away. If I wanted to leave I would've left by now.
Btw - I like your recent post better than the earlier one Q3. :D I think there are a lot of views about what is going on but we know very little. On the optimist/pessimist scale, I am an optimist but I am also a rationalist -- when I have facts, I look at them and want to analyze them. So my take on BTIKM is --- No track is a sure hit. If RCA really wanted this song to get a lot of airplay, they would make it happen. BTIKM does not easily fit either Hot AC or Pop/CHR radio formats and RCA knew it when they selected it as the single. The promotion has been focused on presenting Adam as a mainstream pop artist vs. edgy. The promotion is focused on the album not this track. BTIKM is not like the rest of TRESPASSING. My conclusion is that RCA picked this single knowing that it was not going to be a monster hit -- but because they thought it was the best way to promote Adam Lambert and his album.

I totally stay away from MJs in these moments. It helps nothing IMO; it's not like the people posting there are more informed that I am, but sometimes they behave like they are. It just harshes my mellow.
That being said, do I think that Tresspassing (the album) is going to be successful? A resounding YES.
Do I think the label could have handled the first single push better? Yes.
To me, there are two options: either the label has something up their sleeve/has done background work that is not visible, and the song will soon start to pick up radio play (in which case, I'm like YAY!!) OR the label just messed this up (in which case, I think I am entitled to bitch about them LOL).
I just don't buy this "it's a promo single" theory. It sounds a little like revisionist history to me. What label would say no to making money? I'm sure they wish BTIKM were a bigger hit right now. And IMO, if BTIKM does not become a hit, it's their fault. Not Adam's, not the fans', who promoted the shit out of it. Now, that's a big fat IF. The song is not done just yet. I am definitely NOT losing hope or proclaiming it dead. We just don't know at this point. It's hard to live with this uncertainty, but we need to.

Yeah...it's mega....INTERNATIONAL and US promotions at the same time!! A WORLD WIDE PROMOTION FOR A WORLD WIDE STAR!! 8-)

Q3, you mentioned a while back that fans didn't need to give much effort to Z100. Just curious, was that complete speculation or do you have some kind of inside info. on this? Because this is an add that could push the song at least into the top 40.
RCA may not have ever considered BTIKM to be a potential monster hit. But you can bet they were counting on top 10 HAC at least.
