I have a question. I think I read that this Toby dude said it was from "a source close to the label". Soooooo. This could be the UPS guy, the Chinese delivery dude, the chick from Pizza Hut?
So the scenario is that RCA and the Toby dude order from the same Chinese takeout place and the delivery guy tells Toby he overheard someone talking the phone at RCA? Seriously? That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
;D

I think there are a lot of views about what is going on but we know very little. I agree which is why I was surprised to see you claim that RCA was disappointed in the performance of BTIKM considering that it was you who claimed that nothing would even happen until the weks of ADDS anyway. I'm a big fan of facts myself so I'm curious what facts you're looking at to make the comments that you've made in the last few days about the single not being a hit in the making and RCA being unhappy. I'm neither an optimist or a pessimist. I'm a realist and the reality is that all I can do as a fan is enjoy the music Adam gives me. I can't worry about what RCA is planning or doing and I can't worry about itunes chart positions or first week sales or bumps from performances. Maybe my view comes from stanning Kelly for 10 years but the reality is whatever happens is going to happen regardless of what the fans want or how much they worry. I had a blast through Kelly's breakaway era where she was the biggest pop star on radio and I had a blast through My December, her supposed fall from grace. WHY? Because I'm HER fan and regardless of what the critics were saying or whether radio was playing her music she was still putting out music and I was still buying it. Then why or how would they be unhappy with it's performance so far? This seems to directly contradict your earlier comments and I think it's causing a lot of angst and confusion in the people who listen to you and hold you up as some kind of "expert" on this stuff. Again I agree with you which is why I don't get how RCA would be unhappy with the performance of the single so far. First of all, here is what I posted last night.... I have no idea what RCA has told Toby but the track sales for BTIKM are not great .....
I know only one thing for sure -- RCA cannot be happy with the single's performance.
.... I am not giving up on BTIKM but numbers are numbers and the track does not have really good numbers so far.
Looking at the numbers, I believe that RCA cannot be happy with the single's performance -- I did not post that I know this to be a fact. In addition, a couple people I know who work closely with RCA have express a concern that Adam's fans are sharing the single vs. buying it and this is effecting his sales. MY GUESS is that existing fans want the album, and casual/new fans haven't heard it yet because it is not broadly on the radio yet. The sales are what the sales are.... Sales week (1) 12/25/11 - 38,800 (2) 1/01/12 - 17,900 (total) 56,700 (3) 1/08/12 - 6,000 (total) 63,000 (4) 1/15/12 - unknown For Week 4, all we know is that BTIKM did not make the Top 200 Digital Tracks. I haven't given up on this track -- Adam's past singles have been slow out of the gate -- FYE took a month to chart. Finally, the song is not going to sell until it gets airplay. Radio drives track sales.

Thanks rheimer! I figured my question got lost in all the ruckus. I forgot that I was going to send it to my favorite classic rock DJ. She loves Adam. Of course they would never play Adam on their station, but it might cause some water cooler buzz and conversation.l

Sort of seems like a weird time to post this, but basically it's all I as a fan can do in a very small, and possibly symbolic way to help out with radio play. Requesting from my local stations (& the few national ones) takes at most, 3 minutes a day, and though it's sometimes a hard choice between requesting and watching a lulzy cat video on utube or pondering the weekly groupon email to decide if I really want new towels or lazer hair removal, i'm making the sacrifice :D link to local and national radio info for requesting here: requestadamlambert.com/as an added bonus, today's write up there has some soothing comparative add info balm. Thanks! A little balm might be in order, lol...going to check it out... Btw, I think it was Mszue who posted the L Cohen doc yesterday? Thanks for that, too...finally got to the end part "in the bath" and lol, yes, indeed I would like to see an Adam documentary like this someday! Thx for link.

I LOVE this forum.... it is not boring for sure! No matter if we agree or disagree with each other we know that what binds us together is Adam Lambert. We might strongly disagree or even agree of what is posted but no one will question our intention of hoping of what is the best for our IDOL.. Adam Fucking Lambert.... that's what I love most!OK, done.... back to doing laundry...

I will say again today what I said yesterday. Toby can bite me and come back and let's have this discussion in a month.

The songs that climb iTunes with big sales are the big, CHR hits. RCA knew this was a classic HAC song with eventual cross-over potential. That's why it was originally given an adds date for HAC first. So, the label may be disappointed with adds or the fact that radio is proving tougher than anticipated. But, no way can they be disappointed in sales or iTunes placement at this point unless they are completely out of touch. I still say Toby fabricated a little story to stir the pot. Toby sure did stir the pot and in his doing so, this may lead to awareness and change, often for the good.So RCA will either push this song on radio or they will add a new single ,like they did with the first album. In either case something will happen.IMHO it's only a temporary situation .If we go from past experiences whenever some of us get into a worry mind set, something wonderful happens to change the mood. I think they will give this track a shot first --- we haven't even gotten the music video yet. But Adam didn't have a normal single path for the first album and so why change now? They could do almost anything.

I will say again today what I said yesterday. Toby can bite me and come back and let's have this discussion in a month. i do not want Toby to touch me -- forget about biting me. And I agree with you let's table the angst for a month or maybe a year. What was it that Madonna told Adam about focusing on the prize?
