Adam's paradoxical STRENGTH and VULNERABILITY, so evident in these latest interviews and pics, absolutely SLAYS me dead. Twotrue: Yeah, I'm also interested in the WHOLE spectrum of opinion and feeling out there regarding BTIKM. Don't like to think of folks feeling "shut down" or "outvoted." I agree, although for myself I tend to want to have the nitty-gritty conversations (if I'm in the mood) in the numbers thread, because only by very closely following and examining the data can I get my head around the complexity of the possible variables and see several sides to the issue. Even then I tell myself 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing' because even for example, the most experienced and well read fan (and this is NOT me) only can see a minuscule fraction of the picture of the larger strategy, discussions, compromises, and game plan of RCA and adam's team, and no one can predict the future, especially when we have no clue as to further promo already scheduled either in front of or behind the scenes. Just to give an example, sometimes our assumptions might just be incorrect. Are we really certain that this was the top 40 adds day communicated to radio? I read somewhere today (and I can't remember where unfortunately) that there are certain top 40 stations that add songs on the adds day no matter what, whether they intend to spin them or not, it's just an automatic thing. These stations added another song (by a more obscure artist) today but not Adam. Therefore some were deducing that maybe it really wasn't the top 40 adds day for BTIKM and something got typoed somewhere. I think reducing things to black and white, pop radio commercial success versus long-term artistic impact is just too simplistic IMHO. Take for example Kanye (who i take umbrage at characterizing as a 'boy' versus a man, or Usher either for that matter). He has both in his career, and is wild, wonderfully offbeat, and weird as hell as well (a must follow on twitter). He's exceptional but not at all the only exception.

Yes, he reminds me of that friend of Adam's who had the video 'Whiskey in Churches' or something like that : Cassidy Haley - Whiskey In Churches [Music Video] Cassidy is a cutie and has a fantastic body. He is/was part of Skingraft. He was also the stiltswalker in IIHY. I like his song and several of his other ones. There was speculation when the song came out that he was fawning over Adam in the vid. ETA: Sorry, see that Sugaree already posted the Adam connection. I'm catching up I swear.

Q3 did The Grateful Dead have many #1 hits on radio? Now they definitely had a following and great concert success. Lots of huge rock acts from the 70's and 80's had little success on radio. Grateful Dead are an example of an album oriented band. They only had one radio hit but have dozens of albums and were a great concert act. There are a number of bands in this tradition -- like Phish. But Adam is a pop artist and with the increasing importance of track sales to pop artists, radio is very helpful to building a financially successful career. Adam has had 4 singles promoted to radio -- and all moved slowly --- IIHY was released on May 11, 2011 and peaked on October 2, 2011 -- 5 months.

Q3 Is Clear Channel Media the owner of most of the radio stations in the U.S. If so,Isn't it a very conservative group ? Do you have any info, on them? are they a bit of a music monopoly?Did Barry Manilow have a connection to them, did he help push Adam's music with them.. Am I dreaming this or am I remembering something that happened with the last album?
