The song is a grower. And people will buy it, if they are able to hear it enough. But radio HAS to play along.
As fans we are pretty helpless, and that's the frustrating part. Requesting is a double edged sword, especially if the person you are requesting is off American Idol.
It is all up to RCA. In my opinion, if RCA believes they have a winner/something special in this album, then they will do what they have to.

But, WWFM had a better start. That song got all the album promo, and it also had some key stations giving it great spins out the gate (Z100, for example). WWFM wasn't an "instant hit," but it had a lot better traction. RCA should have had some big markets lined up for this single. And if that wasn't going to happen, they should have picked a different song. This album just sounds so incredible. I just want Adam to be in the best position possible come March when it is released. eta: sorry if this doesn't make sense, the post I was responding to was edited. I think you're talking about me..Sorry I deleted a couple of my posts, I guess I'm feeling so ambivalent.. Maybe I should stop writing until I get my mind in a steadier position. I just hate feeling helpless when it comes to Adam's success. We can only do what we can do is my new motto. You make perfect sense. You know, one of these interviewers (forgot which - there've been a lot lately!), said something to Adam near the end of the interview, like, "well, I hope you sell millions" and Adam replied something to the effect that he hoped people would enjoy the album. Well, the lucky people who have already heard it are. So, if we love and enjoy the song, and then the album - we ARE helping contribute to the kind of success Adam wants to have. And whether BTIKM hits or not, the album (not even 100% finished yet, I guess) is already getting nothing less than acclaim by some critics. (Of course, I, too, want Adam to have it ALL and have it IMMEDIATELY.)

Oh my god! I have never heard this before, only the AI -version. I listened to it many times. How can anyone sing SO BEAUTIFULLY! Adam's singing is not of this world!!!
Someone should come up with new words to describe Adam and Adam's voices. Old adjectives do not dispute anymore!!!!

Thank you (who it was) for bringing that link up! Studio "Feeling Good" is still one my absolute favorite Adam recordings. It just defies words. I still listen to it regularly.

TOBY KNAPP HAS AN AGENDA! He is a passive aggressive jerk who not so deep down really doesn't like Adam and he IS a KA supporter. He has no reason to make these comments about sales when he knows perfectly well it takes radio play , plain and simple. He has made many comments that to me sound very unprofessional and this comment is no exception and I have been observing him since he initially started talking about Adam. He does NOT want Adam to succeed but he loves the attention from Adam's fans. The little PA comments he has made such as "no CHR station are playing it" and "where it will live on radio" and now this are all very subtle attempts to worry and cause anxiety. He knows what he is doing. Q3- I know you say he might be in a position to "know" things but even people in high positions can be petty and have their own ideas of how things should be. I don't get what you are saying about Leno and Ellen. Those two shows have never given Adam much of a bump in sales, yet the single shot up the iTunes charts. It didn't stay up because of no radio play. I say we pay no attention to this Toby Knapp, he has an AGENDA, and it does not include Adam's success. Can someone please enlighten me? Why all the weeping and wailing over this Toby Knapp person's comments? Is he the All-Powerful Ruler of the Airwaves, or something? Exactly how much influence does he have over what's played on radio stations throughout the U.S.? OK, now I'm gonna put something out there that might earn me flames, or a barrage of rotten tomatoes and eggs. But I think it's time someone said it. With everything in me, I believe that the sublime Adam is the best artist out there, that no one else compares to, the best to come along in decades, and in a perfectly logical universe he should be as much of a legend as Elvis or Freddie or MJ. And that still may happen, and I truly want it to. But I also believe that even if the gods are cruel and Adam never quite reaches those heights, he'll still have a long and highly successful career. Would it be so terrible if things go that way for him, if his music doesn't automatically shoot to the top of the charts, but he has a large legion of diehard followers around the world who support him and buy his music for years to come? I think Adam could live with that kind of success. I can think of more than a few artists who have a devoted fan base and continue to make great music, and have sold out concert halls, and sold albums for years even though they may have topped the charts only once or twice in their careers. Names like Chris Isaak and Neil Young and kd lang and Heart's Ann Wilson come to mind, kd and Ann especially because they're two of the best female voices in pop history. Could you count any of these people as losers because their record or ticket sales don't match Gaga's or Katy Perry's or *choke* Bieber's? Hardly. The passion of the Glamberts (now there's a movie title, if there ever was one) is a wondrous thing, but sometimes I wish this fandom weren't quite so bipolar. Seems like one minute we're flailing over gushing reviews of Trespassing or its melt-your-underwear-off cover photo, and the next minute we're in despair because BTIKM isn't getting more radio play, or we're raging over a toolish Seacrest interview. It's exhausting! Try thinking this way: Adam is doing all he can to put himself and his music out there. The Glamberts are doing all they can to spread the gospel of AFL. Adam counts real industry biggies among his fans. His label is behind him. He. Is. Not. Gonna. Fail.

why are people flipping tits over BTIKM? JFC this week is the official adds... it's up to #41 on HOT AC already and anytime a song is just outside the top 40 BEFORE it even goes for adds that's a GOOD THING!!
RCA is doing their job. The released the song MOST likely to get Adam back on the radio and this week they will start pushing the song to radio. They lined him up with interviews, they are letting the media hear parts of the album and the reviews so far have been off the wall amazing.
The promo just started. I think y'all let the haters get in your head sometimes and you start believing what they say about Adam failing.
I have more faith in Adam than to believe or even worry that he'll fail. He'll make himself a success... he's got the drive, the talent AND the fan support to do it.
so just calm down and relax... Adam's got this under control.
