This short fan video is sideways, but it gives me warm fuzzies the way Adam goes right out to say hello to the fans. twitpic.com/8bdyjb

IMHO,Adam is the Jackie Robinson of the music industry at this point. As Adam said there aren't many gay folks in music right now. He is alone ,during a huge push back against LGBT civil rights. Adam explained that movies and TV are a bit better now for gay performers but music, not so much.He doesn't even have great support from his own team. His fans are his supporters and whether we want to admit it or not, when he said if it were't for us he wouldn't be making this second album, He meant it. He is telling us what is happening, are we listening? Is it too painful for us to see the up hill battle Adam has to be an artist in this country?I know ,I thought it would be easier to get Adam on air this time, but I believe it may even be harder. Is it no wonder that Adam feels so thankful to AI and to RCA. They have backed him ,when others ignored his unimaginable talent. Look at the candidates running for president, listen to how Rick Santorum wants to reverse all gay rights, reverse all rights women have won, and take the vote away from the blacks. Our country is in a war of ideals.I see it here in North Carolina. A vote this May to have a state constitutional amendment outlawing gay marriage and equal rights.A local mayor who fights against equality for her LGBT government employees, because her church forbids it. Adam sings of love for all he sings of the universal feelings we all share ,unfortunately, half the nation isn't buying it. Someday when there is actual equality in America ,I hope Adam receives all the recognition he deserves. He only wanted to be a singer, but he is 'Trespassing' and some may want to stop his music. First of all, let me say how happy I am about the news about BTIKM moving up the charts. That is great news! I spent a lot of time thinking about the discussion last night, and I believe the ramp-up seems slow to us, but is necessary to get Adam back in the public eye after most radio folks and casual fans have not given him a thought for a year. I'm pretty sure it's all good. Second, mellie, what a great post! It's funny but I was reading about Jackie just a few days ago and I was blown away to read about his effect not just on society but on fans. Some of it was the genuine feel-good story we mostly remember today: that cheering for Robinson was the first step that many, many white fans took: "To disregard color for even an instant was to step away from old prejudices." But what really kind of shocked me was reading about the experience of Robinson's black fans, because it reminded me a little of us. To his African-American fans, Robinson was a true hero, like a prince. Black fans were constantly admonished by Dodger management and by black leaders and newspapers that they were going to "ruin" Jackie's chance for success. They were warned not to interpret bad calls or trash-talking as racially motivated. They were warned that unsportsmanlike play and unfairness towards Jackie was just reality, part of the game, and that they shouldn't complain lest they offend the Powers that Be. They were in effect warned to deemphasize the racial nature of the experiment that was, in true fact, racial in nature. Just as we are warned not to emphasize the gender and sexuality aspects of Adam's "experiment." The black fans were noted for traveling hundreds of miles to see one baseball game and for indiscriminately cheering everything Jackie did (tie his shoes, etc.). Many fans spoke of how Robinson changed their entire lives. Robinson got letters from every part of the country and from people from all walks of life and levels of education. Eventually the torrents of sympathy and acclaim drowned out the stereotypes and deep-seated prejudice. And that is what I believe is happening now. LOVED your post!

As a side note, I really don't get this strategy of giving vh1 the video premieres for Adam's videos. I mean, VEVO seems like much more in line with his desired demographic. But what do I know...

(thinking out loud here) If this is true, I would say VEVO is getting the premiere, which means VH1 would not have it until probably the following Saturday, Feb. 4th ETA: lifetraveler, a lot of people watch that Staurday morning VH1 show!

Question: What is the BEST vid of the EMA performance that we have? Preferably the directors cut one that has the close ups of Adam in THMGO. I know somebody posted it the other night, but I can't find it. And 4M, I just looked through your EMA thread in performances, it is totally Awesome, Great Job!!!!! But I need what yall think is the best vid of all. Thanks! Happy Berting! Do you want the best YouTube or the best download? I'm not sure what is left.
