Haha! Think we can break Vevo?? Crush them to the ground!!!  Don't hold your breath. Niki Minaj's "Hoe" video on Vevo set a record of 4.8 million view in 24 hours. We are a force--but that view number is  Minaj's numbers may be impressive but Rihanna and Gaga average about 1 million a day I think. |

I'm going to order a few more albums for friends who went to concerts with me and had a ball, but are not stans. But, I am going to do that the 2nd week so there isn't a humongous drop from week 1 to week 2 sales. Well, I have noticed as the order ranking goes up, the price usually drops on Amazon, so you might get a better price if you order them all at once. |

QuestionI've just begun using Mediafire. I have the option of making the downloads instant (hotlinking) or having you go to the Mediafire page to get the download. I've disabled the hotlink because the instant ones sorta scare me, but you don't have to put up with ads. Anyone have an opinion? It's easy to change. Whichever one works for you would be fine 4msrmyn but if hotlinking scares you then I recommend sticking with the regular one. We can all put up with the ads.  |

I started thinking about artist incoming from streaming and found one of my favorite graphics, a little old (from April 2010) but it shows how much a music artist would need to stream versus selling, to get a monthly minimum wage. It doesn't include youtube and Vevo, but I think the point is made clearly enough with spotify and lastfm: It's from here: www.informationisbeautiful.net/2010/how-much-do-music-artists-earn-online (and for some reason I can't get the full size image to embed, so it's easier to read at the link also)  For Adam, let's say, to earn $1,160 a month he would need to sell $12,400 individual tracks on amazon/itunes or have his music streamed on spotify over 4 MILLION plays.Or stated another way, to give Adam as much monies as buying BTIKM once on itunes for .99 cents? You would need to stream it on Spotify about 1,965 times. |
