I loved this interview. So casual and natural. I also love hearing Adam laugh....real laugh, not giggle. I also loved the guy calling him Levine. I find that mistake so crazy. He doesn't look the same. I know it's a slip of the tongue, but why? I thought the security he mentioned was odd. I didn't think Adam traveled with security, especially when he was out for the night. Maybe they were just friends and the guy was mistaken.

He has so many friends he trusts...and who are no doubt protective of him...that I imagine he often seems to be 'in the middle' of them...and he had likely just invited them all home with him, lol...so there is that!

Not sure if opening for Xtina (or any other pop diva) this late in his career would have been helpful or made his fans happy about a US Velvet tour but it would have made him happy, lol. He loves his pop divas.

I don't know why Adam would want to open for anyone at this stage in his career, but he was clearly excited at the prospect of touring with Xtina. His career, his choice. Fans could attend or not. As someone who isn't a fan of much of Xtina's music, or of her personally, I'd have had a hard time paying arena tour prices to see Adam do a half hour set. I don't follow Xtina, so I honestly don't know if she still tours as an arena artist at this point in her career. If not, and she would have been doing arenas because of Adam's presence on the bill, it seems to me he would have deserved co-headlining status.

If not, and she would have been doing arenas because of Adam's presence on the bill, it seems to me he would have deserved co-headlining status. She had been playing the same midsize theater venues as Adam (the same size he has always played in the US) in the US now and larger ones abroad. But his tour with her was going to be in the US so surprised he would open for her here. She is not at the level she was years ago when she was huge and maybe it would have made sense many years ago. I have no interest in pop acts with a stage full of dancers so little interest in seeing Xtina but he wanted it. I like dance but I attend dance programs to see the dancers dance and not sing. I do like singers who can dance organically (Adam) without relying on choreographed staged performances tho. However his latest shoe choices seemed to have limited some of his sexy and smooth moves, lol. But Velvet is done and so is the Xtina thing so excited about moving on to bigger and better things with Adam. He said he had finally accepted that he is rock so we shall see. HA.

Now, from the horse’s mouth, Adam was going to open for Xtina. how do you feel about that? I, personally, DO NOT believe THE ADAM LAMBERT should be an "opener" for anyone! Double-bill maybe, but "opener" NEVER! He is way too good and way too respected in the industry. I could see he and Christina singing together, would sound great. I know she is a diva and I am guessing they thought maybe each would find new fans in the other's fandom. But why would Adam's team agree to call him an "opener" is beyond me.

We were all under the impression that Adam and Xtina were going to be co-equal artists for this tour. But Adam has told us otherwise. This tour wouldn't have hurt him. He probably would have gained some new fans. She is a big name, to be sure, and he has always said that he liked her as an artist. But I think Adam has reached headliner stature. Anyway, at this point it's a dead issue. Movin' on.

I never liked the idea of Adam touring with Xtina and had just been happy, that this would have been US only. I always thought that this wouldn’t be 2 equals, never heard of that concept anyway. And even if it was 50/50: I wouldn’t like to pay at least 50% of my ticket for an artist, whom I have no intention at all to see.
But yes, I can see Adam agreeing to be the opener. He was independent with no big label behind him. He hadn’t had chart success for some time either, his audiences in the US aren’t what they used to be, so he and his team had to look for a way to make a tour happen. To share expenses for the stage and all the traveling cost would have been a way.
