I may be the only one who thinks so but I didn't like a thing about that performance. Granted it was a stream and who knows what the room actually sounded like. Well, I do think Kevin is going to mesh really well. Couldn't hear any kind of beat from Isaac and very little guitar. I don't know, they all seemed to be struggling -- including Adam. Of course, its been awhile since he's played such a cold room. Crap, the crowd wasn't giving him anything. I don't feel they're struggling. I can hear all the instruments find, I could hear keyboard, guitar or Issac's bongo. I didn't think Adam's struggling either. Yes he forgot the last line of WWFM, but that's about it. The audience's probably never heard of him and they're not Adam fans so I didn't expect them to hear and super excited like in Adam's concert. And they're not into slow songs. But if you paid attention, they're started dancing when he sangs Trespassing. I was paying attention and I didn't like the performance -- probably the first time I've ever said that about Adam and his band. JMO. Like I said, I may be the only one who thinks so. And, I didn't even notice that he forgot the words.

I really enjoyed what I heard. Confused though, I thought this was a snowcase, not a showcase: basically radio station taking competition winners for a small ski break to Austria. I did not think it was a showcase for industry people?

Nothing like a bazillion hours on an airplane and then no sleep and a smoke-filled room to mess up your voice.
I have to wonder about his handlers...why not have him get to Europe a day earlier??? I realize it was his birthday dinner and all, but since he was gone on his actual birthday anyway...
So this was like a trade show for radio people? Because if so, AND if they were told to shut up or they'd be booted, it's not really surprising that they weren't going bananas.
As for not getting to hear all of Trespassing.../shrug. It's almost February, which means we'll hear it next month, right?

Well, I'm not Q3, but this was not a show per se. It was a showcase. So basically a performance meant to introduce Adam and his album to radio people and to gain the good will of the radio station. It was expected that people in the audience were not going to be his fans. It is what it is. Such is the life of an artist, sometimes you play to tough crowds and need to prove yourself. Thanks! So how do you know that this was a "showcase"? Since they were giving tickets to regular radio audience? (I really don't understand how this works, but like to) Well, I must say I am not 100% sure they were giving tickets to regular radio audience - did not follow it that closely and I remember they did this for the showcase in Scandinavia, but was it the same case here? But even if they did, that's usually the MO for radio stations. This is how an artist gets the good will of the radio station: the artist puts on a show and allows the radio station to give away tickets to it. It's a win win: the radio station has something cool to give away, and the artist gets gets their song played. BUT (and I know this because my husband was a radio DJ in college) even when they do these events, MANY of the tickets actually go to the radio station people, their business partners, their friends, etc. So this is not really a fan-oriented show.

Then perhaps this one shouldn't have been on today's play list? It had to be though. This is not a random audience, this is a showcase for radio people. He needs to showcase his new album. He can't do that with just one song (BTIKM) that isn't even the most representative. He HAD to include another new song IMO. On the other hand, I agree with people who said that there is still a lot to go before the album, and Adam cannot afford a less than perfect version of a song to get out there. It would be ALL OVER the internet, and people would start making opinions based on an acoustic version, that does not represent the song perfectly. And then they would have difficulty selling the produced version. So it's a hard place to be in, but I totally understand their reasoning. This was just done poorly on the part of the streamers/radio stations, who messed it up. I am frustrated too, but on this one I actually can't blame Adam or his team. Yeah, I guess I'm just confused at the whole acoustic thing. The album is being marketed as futuristic pop, production-wise. How are they going to give radio personnel an idea of this by stripping the songs to melody and lyrics? Plus, he really downplayed the vocals on BTIKM until the very end. I just think the whole set sounded dreary. This is not my usual opinion, which is why I'm a bit disappointed. I'm just hoping this whole Europe promo tour isn't done acoustically, but I'm guessing it will be.
