Then perhaps this one shouldn't have been on today's play list? It had to be though. This is not a random audience, this is a showcase for radio people. He needs to showcase his new album. He can't do that with just one song (BTIKM) that isn't even the most representative. He HAD to include another new song IMO. On the other hand, I agree with people who said that there is still a lot to go before the album, and Adam cannot afford a less than perfect version of a song to get out there. It would be ALL OVER the internet, and people would start making opinions based on an acoustic version, that does not represent the song perfectly. And then they would have difficulty selling the produced version. So it's a hard place to be in, but I totally understand their reasoning. This was just done poorly on the part of the streamers/radio stations, who messed it up. I am frustrated too, but on this one I actually can't blame Adam or his team. ARE WE SURE THESE R RADIO PPL? It sure didn't look like that to me. Looked like a bunch of tourists tbh |

I may be the only one who thinks so but I didn't like a thing about that performance. Granted it was a stream and who knows what the room actually sounded like. Well, I do think Kevin is going to mesh really well. Couldn't hear any kind of beat from Isaac and very little guitar. I don't know, they all seemed to be struggling -- including Adam. Of course, its been awhile since he's played such a cold room. Crap, the crowd wasn't giving him anything. Yup. He didn't give his fullest. Well, I wouldn't either (to audience like that). IDK, I think it's just part of showbiz. Most musicians have to play to tough or non receptive crowds again and again and it's your job to try and win them over or say fuck it if you're not into it me and my band are going to have fun and play our best because that's what we do. It's probably a good thing to have to learn. I think adam sounded great, really beautiful but I see what slapdash was talking about. The arrangements didn't add much to his vocals and at points seemed to drag. Maybe they haven't found their groove yet. Is this Kevin's first MD gig? I'm sure they'll work it out. One of the few times I actually wanted the band louder. I didn't here any of Trespassing but I'm so excited from everyone's reaction to the little snippet they heard. Crazy day! I think I'll go make my donation now that the showcase is done maybe we can take all this energy and whip up some exitment for the birthday cause. I love reading all the mesages. It was a showcase.... for insiders. No people off the street were attending and no fans are being shunned. Can't believe my joy is being overshadowed by the fact that we were not handed a pristine copy of an unreleased song! In retrospect: I think it is the disappointment of getting to start hearing it and then just like that, audio cut. If intentional which I agree it was for all the reasons presented in the thread... I just wish they would give us a warning. The whole Adam fandom (well many of us) were watching. Perhaps they could just say (or Adam could say) "for those of you on the live stream the audio will be cut out to preserve the integrity of a yet to be released song. That way there would be not expectation of hearing it to start with. But when you are a minute into it and the bam, it is just a jolt that take a little time to digest. I am better now and thanks for letting me rant. Back to hugs all around and unicorns:-) |
