What an afternoon. More anxious than ever for the album...Trespassing is going to be huge. How sweet of Adam to Tweet us the lyrics. Does RCA care? Love, love, love this man. AND I love Atop because there are so many me's here.

The performance of WWFM. Thanks for putting all the videos in an archive. I need a link, please. ETA I have WWFM audio only. Any more? I can only find audio, too. I haven't found video yet. Will keep looking.

Really? I thought Adam's vocal was exquisitely beautiful on OOL! I loved the shades of emotion he infused into the song. The first 3 notes of BTIKM were a little tentative, but after that it was great! Does that part in OOL where he's moaning/singing remind anyone else of kd lang? I think maybe she did that a lot on her album Drag (which is beautiful for any voicebets looking for a CD) and it's mesmerizing. When people say he doesn't play an instrument, just listen to that bit. It's so hauntingly beautiful and only someone with amazing technique an ability could do that live. Off to listen to Trespassing for the 100th time...

BTIKM: Again, a very different arrangement, but, I liked it! It starts so quiet and intimate thru the first verse and chorus. The second verse comes in a bit stronger with the guitar adding more depth to the backing. The chorus he sings in full voice. Then, the bridge strips it all back down again, with the second half almost acappella. The chorus comes back with power, and then, in the repeat, he wails it. And adds a tender tag to the end. Adam always has a way of building an arc into a song from beginning to end which is very satisfying. Like telling a story from beginning to end. Intro, build, climax, back down, build again, ultimate climax, then the sigh or wrap at the end. Very artistic. I had a question for you about BITKM. Did he change the key? It felt very different to me, and at times off. Especially the chorus just before the bridge. I figured this was the only place where I could hear him not being in top form vocally, but I am wondering if it is just that he changed it around so much. Yes, the key is dropped by two whole tones. The studio recording is in Bb and this version is Gb. (Smart move for live acoustic performances on a grueling PR tour.) As for the chorus, it sounds very different without the layers of vocal harmonies in the backing track. The only harmony is Kevin's voice. The original had three, four and more part harmony, building with each repeat of the chorus. He was a bit wobbly on the pitches in the very first phrase of the song, but the rest was close to pitch perfect. Just a very different vibe in the lower key and without the backing tracks. More mellow, less brilliant in tone. Is that what you are hearing?

It just sounds like a different arrangement to me, not off at all. It was beautiful! I'm sure this is the first of 799 versions we will get! ;D (Wait, I should say 3rd, because Leno and Ellen were different!) Gah, I love him so much!

Oops! I posted earlier saying he changed the key of BTIKM down to B minor from E flat minor! Brain fluff, meant G minor > E flat minor (or B flat major > G flat major) like cassie said. That's two tones down, the Ellen and Leno performances were only down a tone. But the lower key really suits the acoustic arrangement.
