Well this fully supports my belief I've had since I heard that Shady was the sexy song it was, that US radio WON'T TOUCH IT WITH A TEN FOOT POLE. I am not expecting US radio to embrace anything overtly sexual from any gay singer (well unless it's some hot chick) let alone Adam. It's so stupid. If he has 2 big singles before Shady, radio will play anythhing! But the 2 big ones have to be BIG. Yeah that's usually how it works but this isn't any old popstar. He *should* be treated like everyone else but unfortunately so far he hasn't and I dunno if the US will, especially in this political climate. I have no doubt that years from now people will look back at him as a trailblazer....but as it is with a lot of trailblazers, the times they exist in aren't always the best or easiest for them, even if they make it easier for future generations. I can see sexual songs working in Europe, but even if he has two massive hits I can't see US radio playing it unless all the conservative, sticks up their butts radio people all get a major personality overhauls. Or unless the song is sexual but doesn't OVERTLY have any sexual lyrics like FYE did. Which, going on the song description and early reviews, it does seem to be chock full of naughty lyrics. But whatever, I am not worried. I am sure he has lots of other potential radio friendly single choices. I am just not convinced radio here is ready to give any gay man the sexual leeway that straight stars have. They are afraid of sexual gay men. They want them either stereotypical hairdressers they can laugh at or non threatening ones who don't give off any hint that they actually have sex. The AMA's were only 3 years ago, and not a lot has truly changed since then. There has been some change, but I don't think enough to let ppl like him have radio carte blanche. YMMV. Sorry I sooo did not mean for this to turn into a manifesto LOL. |

My husband and I were talking in the front seat of our car as we were driving in town today. In the backseat, wearing noise cancelling headphones (for the fun of it) was our four year old daughter. We became aware of the fact that she was singing in the backseat, so we stopped our conversation to listen to her. The words were quite mumbled but the rhythm and tones of the words sounded familiar to me, then she said "All along..." and I realized that she was singing "BTIKM". I told my husband what she was singing and we sat in silence and listened. Adam has no competition in my daughter's singing voice, but in cuteness of her attempt, she is unmatched. She LOVES the song. She saw Adam's video yesterday and when she saw him playing with the lighter said, "You should not play with fire." Which I seconded. Other than that, I think the video makes her feel kinda shy. I think she thinks "Too much pretty to take in!" [laughs] I wish I could get *my* four-year old to sing BTIKM! It made me cringe the other day to walk into her nursery school class to find her and all the other little kids at her table singing "Tik Tok" !!!! :-/  I swear, she isn't hearing Ke$ha from me, so where the heck is she picking it up from? :  ??? |

Does anyone know if the album we ordered from AO with the BTIKM download is the "Delux" album or the 'regular'....seems to me it is the delux but all the talk of the difference has me wondering? How would we know this? When I ordered from AO, I believe I read that we would be eligible for upgrades closer to release date..perhaps that means we can opt for the deluxe version??? I think they were only offering Trespassing TBA. Please correct me if I am wrong.. That was my understanding, too--that we will be given the opportunity to upgrade to a deluxe version when it becomes available. I went ahead and ordered through AO and figured that if for some reason they don't offer a deluxe version, I'll take the regular version from AO and also order the deluxe version through Amazon. I don't mind giving Adam an extra sale! |
