Of course if you're Sauli, you get both! ;D Speaking of Sauli, question for our Finland berts, is this weather you are having right now going to cause flight to be cancelled out of Sweden? Hope Adam can get back to LA, like he planned for a few days, before he has to go to NYC. :-/ Oh crap! I wonder where his connecting flight is because I don't think there are any non-stops from Sweden to LAX? I hope it isn't London, but I'll bet it is. Here is a clip of Finnish airport SnowHow (sorry, don't know how to embed), Helsinki airport in Finland is open in practically any weather, so I would think our Swedish neighbours can do that as well ( maybe not quite as well, but..). www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yas5NdrmixUAnd I would assume Adam will leave Europe from the same airport as he arrived. Munich was it?

Here's a review of the London Showcase from Unicorn @ UK Lambrits. It is posted on thier site. Also, Angelina Kalahari was there, and will also write a recap, I will post it when I get it from her. Enjoy! UK Showcase Review - by Unicorn I was fortunate enough to attend Adam's London Showcase with my Glam Nation travel buddy Claire and the wonderful Etty & Angelina. We arrived at the Arts Club in Mayfair around 5pm. The venue could not have been better - beautiful decor, intimate stage and a free bar! The doors had not been open long when we arrived, yet the room was already almost full. If there were any no-shows there can't have been many, as the room was packed. There were around 50-or-so attendees from magazines, radio and the record label, mainly milling around the bar until a guy from Sony appeared on stage to introduce Adam. The Sony guy asked everyone to move forward to gather around the stage, so we obliged and went to the front but stood behind two excited young children who were there with their parents. The stage was tiny, with just room for Adam's stall, the band and sound equipment, so it was just as intimate as having Adam perform in your living room. The Sony guy gave a great introduction, quoting Brian May’s comment about Adam’s voice 'reaching out with sensitivity, depth, maturity and awesome range and power that will make jaws drop all around the world. The world of rock has a bright new star,' as well as giving some facts and figures that we fans already know and take for granted, but to a lot of the press and media who may not be as familiar with Adam's music must have sounded incredibly impressive! Adam then appeared on stage (on time!) wearing a stylish black outfit and subtle make up. As much as I loved seeing Glam Nation Adam in his rhinestones and glitter backed by dancers and lasers, it was wonderful to see a stripped-back Adam with a simple set and chance to let his vocals shine. I was concerned that after a week of solid press interviews in Germany and the UK, Adam's voice might not be at its best, yet he did not dissapoint. Throughout the set he sounded flawless - I won't go into techincal details about his vocals as I'm no expert, but I spoke to Angelina about it afterwards and she had such wonderful things to say about the voice which I'll leave up to her to describe! The sound in the room was top-notch, and apart from one comment to the sound man Adam appeared happy with it too. I've been at other shows where the sound has been less than perfect and noticed Adam getting annoyed with his mix, but thankfully the Arts Club didn't let him down. The atmosphere was fantastic too - being an industry showcase I was concerned the crowd might lack that electricity normally found at a gig full of fans, yet Adam clearly had a number of press converted beforehand who were down the front getting very excited, and even the more reserved people who may not have known much about Adam beforehand were paying attention and getting into it. People were swaying and dancing to the upbeat songs, as well as respectful and not talking loudly over him during the slower songs. He started with Fever, which had a really fun and energetic feel to it even without the usual dancers and backing track. Next up was Outlaws of Love, which Adam introduced with some touching comments about the uphill struggle of the LGBT community, which he called 'my community'. His vocals were haunting and he added some stunning riffs that need to be heard to be believed. Again, I'll leave it up to our resident vocal expert Angelina to sum it up properly! BTIKM sounded really good acoustic. We were particularly impressed by Kevin’s piano and vocals and how they blended so well with Adam's, which we told him about at the bar afterwards and he seemed very touched to hear! This was followed by WWFM, which we've all heard so many times now but still managed to sound fresh. Then Adam closed the set with Trespassing, and all I can say is OMG! I hadn't yet listened to the version from Austria so it was the first time I'd heard it, and speaking to others afterwards who had heard last weekend's version said it was very different - perhaps because the crowd and energy was better in London so he could get more into it. Adam was clearly really enjoying himself as he performed it, standing up from his stool and dancing/shaking to the beat and getting the crowd to along. Even acoustically it has a great groove to it which got everyone dancing, so I can only imagine what the album version will sound like! The lyrics were very catchy and clever and the best part was the grunting/heavy breathing sounds Adam makes in the second half of the song - Trespassing is sure to be a fan favourite on the next tour! After the performance was over, most people stuck around to mingle (and make the most of the free alcohol!) including Adam who was busy networking with various media people. Knowing how vital this opportunity was for his success in the UK, it was so nice to see such a huge group of important people all there for Adam and clearly buzzing about it afterwards. We chatted with various media people, all of them echoing what press have been saying throughout the week after meeting Adam and saying the same things - great guy, great music, great voice! We met a journalist from Fault magazine who had been involved with Adam's recent photo shoot, but would not give away any hints about the shoot other than that he'll be wearing very different clothes and it's going to be amazing Before we left we said goodbye to Adam and congratulated him on a brilliant performance and wished him well for the future. Before long he's sure to be back in the UK, playing these fantastic new tracks to a bigger audience of fans and gaining the success in the UK that he long deserves! In this mix, I am hoping there were dj's and PD's from Radio 1 and 2 and other radio stations. He had media coverage before in the UK to no avail. He needs to be played.

Q3, Dark Adam is only for Adam fans.... the Light Adam is for mainstream America... ;D ;D.. so everybody's happy Oh wow, that you're saying this, because this was my thought too. It's like Dark Adam is what media sees and display, how he is when he's partying and touring. And Light Adam is when he's being papped at stores, when he's doing interviews. Dark Adam is what majority fans prefer it seems, when he's being his most uninhibited self, wild, crazy, and spontaneous. Light Adam is what is most acceptable among the mainstream audience. Here's what I think: When you speak to strangers you put on a "game face" something they can accept, the image you want them to have of you - IMO Dark Adam is more closer to that than Light Adam, who - IMO - represents the more "real Adam", the one who he really is inside. Domestic, comfrotable in his own skin and happy. Honest. But on the other hand so is the Dark Adam; freely suffering, not hidin his anger and agony... DA is still the one who puts on a show and tries to hide behind make-up; something LA doesn't do... So I don't know wich one is more closer to the "real Adam" - if either. Adam did say that this era is all about realness.

Hello, everyone, here on Atop :D All interpretations boil down to the same Light Vs Dark, Yin/Yang, Freudian Id/Ego/Superego thing, which is all true and correct and perfectly illustrated by this: I have a problem with the "Versus" part. The Light and the Dark Adam are not opposed to each other, or against each other in any way. To me it's obvious from the start that they are connected in some way and the mystery gets resolved by the end of the video. They communicate all the time. LA wants to play w/ DA, ball, chess, whatever... He likes DA, they both obviously have this urge to interact, he's reproachful and goes all "mother hen" with his tsk-tsking on DA. It's not the first time DA's been misbehaving:) All DA's tantrums are directed towards LA. He hates LAs puritanism, his "goody-two-shoes"iness and wants to corrupt him. Here's your book, I'm ripping it apart, you annoying little f***er, like he says. They annoy, but they don't hate each other. Far from it.But they are also physically connected, in spite of the thin glass dividing them. They share air, through joined air pipes. They are one , and even if they wanted, they couldn't live without each other. Which they don't want to begin with. The minute DA realises he's going to kill LA with fire induced lack of oxygen, he saves him. But he's also saving himself, and he knows it. It's not so noble a gesture as it is an intelligent one. If LA dies, he dies, too. The final image of the "third" Adam where DA and LA merge is not the ending of the video. It's actually the beginning of the whole story and the video just elaborates on it. Explains it. He's not the "third" Adam, he's the only one. The gorgeous, knee-buckling, stunningly handsome one. And if the different-coloured-eyes thing isn't a wink to Bowie, albeit a far-fetched one, I don't know what is Edit: thank you for this post aleksandrakvI am more than impressed ...it was a true ahah moment !! The sharing of the air ...for the first time really connects in my brain the other symbolism even taking it as far as "pipes" like his voice pipes... oh so much to make of this video. I played it for my neice (25yrs old) Her first comment to me " what do you think of it?" So that told me she wasn't really sure about the song or the video. Oh well..... Then she asked about the meaning of the video so I showed her the 38 sec promo vid. Even I had to agree I like his light ADAM look in the video versus the look where he is just commenting on the video and he is in make-up , lots of eyeliner. That to me was not was not a flattering look. She asked more about his look, and in passing pictures of Adam came up that were him shopping with Alisan/at the airport/the snowcase etc. She thinks he is so much more handsome with the natural look. she thought the Dark Adam look in the video was even more pleasing than the made-up Adam in the teaser vid (his real life self). I played the small clip of Trespassing which she liked. Light and dark Adam ...hey I am fond of both. Mainstream the light and the dark opens up a new way of viewing Adam as well.

There has been a ton of discssuion about the "what" of the video. Interpreting "what is going on" and "what does it all mean." You have all done such a superb job of that, that I have not added one damn thing in 3 days! ;D However, the why of the video has intriqued me from a single, sales, album PR point of view. I've always said that nothing Adam ever does is random, right down to his tweets. Recent example the "shirk" tweet. This song and this video is the perfect way to introduce his album. Someone touched on it, a few posts up. The general public thinks the Adam Lambert they see pics of, posted by the press, is the real Lambert. The press often uses tour photos with Adam all glittery and made up. It is only his stans that probably are even aware that there is a softer more gentler Adam. We've all seen Adam with no make-up and dressed casually. How much of the general public has. How much of the "haters" and homophobes have seen the other side of Adam? Probably not many.
This video & song is the perfect bridge from what the public thinks they know, what the fans know, and the actual real Adam Lambert. It perfectly presents the mission statement of the album, "Trespassing." It sets up the dark and light of the album that Adam is soooooo committed to. And even if the single BTIKM doesn't blow up the charts, this video is the perfect introduction to the album. A video for this song had to be made!
