Meeee.... I don't think Adam would say "if this collab would happen everyone is going to be very excited" and this collab would be Kylie . I'm staying with JJ. Do you think? I was thinking it exactly the opposite! lol  Kylie has been quiet enough recently that doing something with Adam would be news and she has made classic, classic records in the vein of electro/disco. Jessie J is all over the place and recently did that horrible collaboration with James Morrison. Meh. Maybe I'm biased cos I don't like her.  |

Loving the Adam interviews from Europe -- so many goodies today! Kinda OT, but interesting: Today's NY Times has an article about Christian Siriano, who won Project Runway several years ago. The article talks about Christian's difficulty in gaining acceptance in the fashion industry, especially among fashion critics, despite the fact that he has been embraced by fashion consumers. So, the music business isn't the only industry in which reality show contestants face a stigma. Quote from article: "He is a star in the eyes of the broader public, if not at all in the eyes of the industry establishment. Last year, when he applied for membership in the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the influential trade group, he was turned down. 'That is the hardest struggle,' Mr. Siriano said. 'I have all these women telling me, ‘We love your clothes,’ and ‘You are wonderful,’ and then I have full 180 degrees the opposite. What do you do?' I am thinking there are maybe more than 1 possible collabos because in the vid he did hint at a few options....so anything is possible. I kinda want Bowie now that the idea is put in my head DAMN IT. lmao |

I think it could be JJ given that Adam has mentioned her several times and really seems to be in love with her voice. Looking at it from his perspective, I think JJ would be someone he would be very excited about collaborating with vocally. |

Neither one of them sound exciting to me and I don't think either one is so well known that "everyone" will be excited. don't tell Adam. ;D I want it to be someone *BIG* - someone everyone knows and the collab with make a huge PR impact. Guess I still want JT. 8-) ETA-Kinda gross, but I think most times it is better to let the "runs" take their course and eliminate all the flu bacteria from the body. |

Maureen Walsh on Marriage EqualityWho could listen to her and not be moved. Rick Santorum? I sent this to several of my friends who are "on the fence" about this issue. Progress is being made (as Adam has said many times). It does seem slow and I wonder how there could be ANY holdouts for, not just marriage equality, but equality period. It's sobering to realize that just 8 short years ago Texas & some other states made gays subject to arrest for "deviant sexual conduct". The law was declared unconstitutional by Justice Anthony Kennedy, who said "the state cannot demean gay couples by making their intimate, private conduct into a crime." Kennedy will be the deciding vote if Prop 8 goes to the SC. Actually I think it was then that the Texas sodomy law was overturned by the US Supreme Court. The law was from 1860. Still stupid though. Yes - and Justice Kennedy was instrumental in that decision. So it looks promising. |
