I think requesting is great! But the more "organic" the better. Tweeting or texting your local radio station HAS to be the most effective way to do this---like that poster mentioned up thread about contacting her station after they made an Adam mention on the morning show. These are the requests that stations pay most attention to. They know its a local person, and they know this person is listening. Requesting after a press announcement---like the Queen gig--also is a great because it will make sense to the DJs/PDs. Or after TV appearence.
I just don't think stations take the mediabase form seriously (not telling any to stop doing this, do what you want). Filling out an internet form has to be a red flag that it's a fanbase/Idol base request. Do regular listeners even know these thing exist? And I, sadly, don't think they take internet voting stuff seriously.

Maybe if we all start requesting -- just 3 times a week to those stations who aren't playing BTIKM -- the requests will raise significantly. Remember when Adam ended up in the bottom 3 because everyone thought he was safe? I am beginning to think that requests have little to do with what gets played. My local HAC station only had BTIKM on its mediabase form because the one supportive DJ was spinning it on Sundays during his new music show--no spin this week, so it's off the form now. And one of the weeks, he even said he got the most requests for Adam Lambert's new song. I was doing the mediabase form several times a week. Still, they have not given it a spin during regular times or added it, despite always saying really nice things about Adam and his voice, etc. I really do not get it. This song is certainly catchy enough and sung beautifully enough and easy enough to sing along with that IF it were being played three or even four times a day, it would be getting in people's heads and would be selling more and moving up. Seriously, they are still playing that One Republic song "Good Life" regularly--I mean there is no way that song is better than BTIKM. I like Ryan Tedder ok, but that song is seriously dull. Another song I've heard lately is a freaking remix of Heart's Alone that sounds like a dance mix cover of Alone with not one original vocal difference--other than it's some chick other than Ann Wilson trying to sing it. Apparently just covering old stuff can get you on the radio even when you add nothing new to it! I really do not get it at all, and frankly, I am tired of fooling around with the radio bs. For whatever reason, radio is not playing BTIKM and I really don't believe that requesting it over and over is going to change anything. I guess this should not come as a big surprise that radio is tough for Adam--I mean, look at the discussion last year of why they did not release Sleepwalker, which sounded like a radio-worthy song to be for sure. They knew it would require too much work to get it played, for whatever reason. I really do agree with some of the others here that they need to release something that Adam wrote and that is a bit different. I hope they do go with Trespassing, especially if it does have a nod to the Queen sound, as it might be the right tie-in with all the press he's had lately to actually get him on the radio. I am hoping he does a kick-ass upbeat song live on the NewNowNext awards. Also, I think that we will see a new single before the album drops so that he can be on all the other talk shows (morning and evening) etc. in the spring and have two songs to sing while he is promoting the album. No matter what, I just can't wait to hear more music from Adam! P.S. So happy for all of you who are going to Sonisphere! I will be with you in spirit! |

So glad to live where I do. My radio stations B104 and Q102 support BTIKM and play it regularly! (not as much as kelly or katy, lol but still!) Again, I listen to Q102 but playing it regularly? Only because we vote during the day, BTIKM makes the countdown, we use to get it played on the TAKE OVER at 8 PM but Maxwell hasn't been doing the contest this past week, and for the last two days, at 10:10 PM. Other than those times, when is it played? I don't hear it? I requested it this weekend which was played but Q102 does NOT have this song in rotation unless it's in the wee morning hours. I'm just disappointed w Q102 because I know they like him and we the fans have been requesting like crazy. Yesterday I was happy to see at least two Q102 BTIKM spins on yes.com and extremely happy to see two new spins from NJ's WPST. I have no idea why the song is not being played, listening to what is being played could it be that the Radio company got greedier and the money/payola offered for the song was not enough for the Radio station? BTW, I got three teenage boys - none of them listen to pop radio. They usually plugs their itunes playlists in the car. |

I've made my decision. I went to Adam's official site, my intention was to order tickets to Kneppworth. I can not find even to the right place.
