Entertainment Second ACTS Life after "Idol" has been a bumpy ride for these runners-up. By Ross Raihala Pop Music Critic www.twincities.com/entertainment/ci_17540038?nclick_check=1 ADAM LAMBERT, SEASON 8 After the show: Like most "Idol" vets, Glambert's post-show debut, "For Your Entertainment," felt more like the creation of a large committee than an individual artist. Yet it has performed respectably, selling about 800,000 copies in the States. And unlike the majority of the show's performers, Lambert has done substantial business abroad, picking up new fans across Europe and Asia. Where it all went wrong: Pretending to make out with his male bandmates on the 2009 American Music Awards derailed his momentum in the mainstream, although he followed that incident up with a successful tour that's documented on his CD/DVD "Glam Nation Live," due out later this month. What he should do next: "Glam Nation Live" will surely be a nice souvenir for his fans, but Lambert has already put out an online collection of remixes and a live acoustic EP. He needs to get back into the studio to crank out an all-new album that will remind everyone why they fell for him in the first place.

NoAngel - You have said it all for me in your post! It's hard for me to say this, but I recently put myself into Kaisers Rehab program for alcohol! Wasn't an excessive drinker in some people's thinking - just drinking more than I thought I should be! Just want to be the best me I can be. Adam has been an inspiration in helping me to to that! Aftermath took on a new meaning for me a while ago! I posted something about that - but I'm sure it got buried amongst the other posts. I took that step before I leapt and with all my heart, want to rewrite the role I play, in the lives of those I love most! The reason I'm posting this is that I can't be alone in my thinking! NoAngel, you have such a way with words, you cut to the quick - I'm sure that's one of the reasons you are great at what you do RL ! Love you all! Your courage is eloquent. You are beautiful. By sharing your journey, you made us beautiful , as you are. Thank you.

Great essay once again NoAngel! And ITA with everything. One of the things I love most about Adam is that he is all about taking action. Taking charge and owning your life and your decisions. Yes the first step is to believe that you are beautiful the way you are and never let anybody tell you otherwise. It's a great message and for many people (me included), it may take a good long while before we achieve that level of self-confidence and acceptance. But we can't sit around waiting for it to happen, we have to actively work at it. And while we're at it, why not spread a little love around? IMO his message is that much more powerful because he lives it and in so doing inspires others to do so as well. Kapsiz, I truly admire your bravery, not just in taking that step but also in sharing it with us. (((BIG HUGZZZ))) I'm still trying to find the courage to take that first step towards making changes in my life and hearing from all of you that have done so inspires me and pushes me that much closer to action. So in the spirit of Adam's Aftermath, I just wanted to say that you are, all of you, beautiful.

(((kapsiz))) So proud of you for taking charge of your life. :D I need to do some of that in my life!
Great essay NoAngel!
After catching up this morning from last night's thread and reading about all the southern food, I went to Facebook and the first thing I saw was a post by an Alabama friend that sums it up:
I am proud to be from the South - where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come w/ gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. Have a good day y'all!

Prediction for AI performance - he brings Alisan with him and sings as a duet... Bridgey, hush yo mouth! No Alisan please. Not a fan of her shrill voice. Also, very much doubt Adam would do that. Even when she was opening for him, he only dueted with her once, not both times. I think it's great that this season's AI10 seem to have so much more swagger. Maybe they've read a lot of interviews that Adam has done in the past and taken some things on board. He had so many smart things to say about the AI process, that it's a platform, that you have to stand out, that he was strategic, that all he had to do was ask, that some "tests" weren't presented as tests, etc. NoAngel, all you essays are great, but this one is extra great. Thanks for the read.

Can't wait to meet you at Mayumi's in April - You have summed up my feelings. Kapsiz - Brave soul and you have my support. Still growing and figuring life out myself at 64 and Adam has said that is a good thing! Aren't we all so fortunate to have found him, each other and ourselves!!!
