Q3 and NoAngel Love what you wrote, as always!
"Prediction #2: Before he performs, Adam will explain what the song is about, why he wrote it and tell people about The Trever Project version. The lyrics will matter." Q3
"There is something very powerful (and unprecedented) about a gay man singing from his own personal experience..." NoAngel
“Think of what could be if you rewrite the role you play.” This is a song to encourage you to move forward, even if by only a small step at first, and tells you that you are the creator of your own destiny. It also says that the answer is not to build up a wall around yourself, but to connect with others...“Before you break you have to shed your armor” means that you have to risk being vulnerable in order to transform. When he tells us to “Take a trip and fall into the glitter,” he is saying that we must take that journey towards our goals, and also that a stumble along the way is okay. Life, like glitter, is messy and hard to control, but you have to get into it and risk making mistakes. And from those risks and mistakes we gain character and strength and beauty. We become glitterier!... it’s even better to reach for your goals with both hands. The message of Aftermath is-- Don’t just be… Do! Don’t just accept… Live! " - NoAngel
“Intolerance is not encoded in our DNA. What is encoded is our curiosity and the ability to learn quickly." Steven Spielberg
"Art: An act of faith that destroys silence."- Shostakovich
Love sets this art free...
Adam's most profound act to date.
I believe that what Adam is about to do is his bravest act yet. He has been set free to do this by his fans who love him, support him, and embrace this song so completely. No sexual frenzy here, rather a song from the heart that, though just the opposite, could be cast aside as schmulzy, corny, and in keeping with American Idol by those that don't get it. Many who want edgy Adam, will not find this move "cool" or "cool" enough, a gay man openly expressing feelings of the heart on the American Idol stage. Yet, in its simple heartfelt honesty, this is far edgier and more daring than any of the sexual performances. This is Adam, up there on a massive world stage, openly fighting for gay and perhaps heteroflexible liberation and empowerment, starting with the heart. Imagine if it was actually an arena big enough to hold all the people watching the show around the world. It does not get bigger or more profound a statement.
TRUTH:
The truth is that nothing is edgier or more true to the heart of rock and roll than singing one's truth straight from the heart.
It reminds me of one of Angelkrash's posts

"FHS I loved your post. It reminded me of what one of my professors, a man dear to my heart, told me in his first lecture.
He asked us do you know what makes the Daffodil special? It blooms in the winter*. Why does it bloom in the winter he asked us.How does the Daffodil dare to bloom in adverse conditions?
The answer is it's bulb (in hebrew we call it onion). The bulb is what keeps the Daffodil alive in those hard times. And what is the bulb? It's made of layers.
Find what makes your bulb, he told us. Every layer that you add, that comes from what you've learned will make your flower stronger and more beautiful. Your bulb is your inner truth and it makes you who you are. It will make you strong enough to take risks, to accept others and to live life the way you want to live it, even in adverse conditions.
I think Adam found what makes his bulb. I think he has an inner truth so strong he simply can't go against what he believes.
To connect it to what FHS wrote, I think people that have found their bulb are the people that aren't looking for "it" because they already have it ."
and Michelle of Best Week Ever
Michelle: Do you realize that you are a magical person?
Adam: Well, thank you. (arms touching now) And I’m only attracted to other magical people.

"You know what I've gotten most from my Adam Lambert stanning? Self-acceptance, I think. As I moved from disbelief, to tolerance, to acceptance, to actual enjoyment of the strange(?) people I have met in GA lines in Glamnation, I learned that I myself have displayed all those human attributes that I observed. As I learned not to judge people who are different then me, I stopped judging myself. That allowed me to dress with glitter and feathers, wear club clothes, sing and dance with abandon, and profess love for a 28 year old gay man.. I hope I never recover from Adam Fucking Lambert!"

and China Galland
In her article, The Fierce Feminine, China Galland writes about the Hindu war Goddess Durga, who saved the world through her fierce compassion... She rode in on a lion, the symbol of courage, but also of primal power in Nature that cannot be tamed.
Adam has Fierce Compassion.
and it reminds me of an autostraddle article....
"Ultimately though; it’s not the boy-kissing and theatrics and genderf*ckery that makes Adam’s performances so meaningful for his fans. That’s just part of it. The other part, I think, is that when Adam struts up to the edge of the stage and gushes, “you’re all gorgeous, and beautiful,” you believe him because he’s looking at you when he says it. And somewhere in that crowd is an awkward, lonely, singing/dancing kid (or his Mom) like the kid Adam Mitchell Lambert used to be, who for one moment realizes that he is, really, gorgeous, beautiful, and definitely not alone."
I love Adam. I love his heart and I love the heart of his fans. I love the compassion and empathy I see here in Adamtopia. I love the way Adam's fans support Adam, his sexuality and his beautiful heart. I love that Adam's fans have set him free to help heal so many more than he would have been able to otherwise. I love you Adamtopians, for real.
