Yeah JazzRocks, the song has a weak start, and I think that really hurts it with radio. And it's a slow build to the hook. The second single really needs to be more immediate. If they do go with Bruno song, I am sure it will be uptempo and dancey. They HAVE to be running singles by CHR don't you think? I don't care what song they ultimately choose, just PLEASE may they have run it by Z100 at the very least.
I think Adam has a ton of creative control, but I bet he has very little control when it comes to picking singles. I am sure he has some input. But someone else is making the final decision.

Adam sounds like a girl??!!!!!!!! WUT!  The Bruno song is a dancey song. The demo was fast and I expect the new version to be even faster. Yes, the suits pick the single. Unfortunately! I know, for a fact, that Adam wanted and expected Cuckoo to be the first single. Melliemom, did you see my explanation a few posts back on why we can't get numbers on songs not in the Top 200? |

I can't remember the interview, but I think it was either from the UK or one of the first US promo interviews. It was after BTIKM was chosen though and he made a very quick comment. |

I believe that Adam's high notes are accepted and appreciated by everyone when they come in Rock songs or at the end of songs or in runs and layers of the chorus. (like in WWFM) I wonder if those high counter tenor notes work for the majority of the regular radio listeners when they are by themselves and a main part of the chorus? I suggested that it might be a problem with a song like BTIKM. That one really high part may not "sound right" to the ears of your casual listener. That is all it takes for a song to miss the mark to becoming a radio favorite. Of course, I think that part of the song is gorgeous!  |

Do you think that he lost some clout on picking the first single because of FYI? I believe he really wanted that to be the lead single and it didn't work out very well.

Ugh at the update. Just hoping his off-the-charts charisma is helping to get the song added/played at these radio stations he's visiting. HAC I mean. I've almost given up on CHR.
Gotta say this situation is NOT what I expected for era#2. I was a little apprehensive after the Cook debacle but knew Adam's music would be more current and would fit HAC and even CHR better. So I was optimistic. Even if single #2 (whatever it is) does well on CHR is there enough time for it to help with first week album sales?
Shoot me down if I'm being too negative. I know some people get very upset with anything other than positivity.
