Oh ya, this song has a great hook! The "never close our eyes" is very hooky and the whole chorus is a jump up and down with your arms in the air flailing dance song. If the production is good (Dr. Luke, sigh!) it could be a killer! Don't get the concern over this morning's update. We knew Adele would pass him. She is going to pass everyone. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. She is the wonder child of the past year. And the Wanted and now Fun have the new hot songs. It doesn't show on the abbreviated update that is posted here but he has 3 new stations spinning. The one that decreased is the DC one, but hopefully that will right itself when he gets there in a few days. yes, we knew Adele would pass. more important is, that both songs ahead of Adam are not moving since a fews days and have even lost spins today and Adam has gained some. Nickelback is only 28 spins ahead and Flo Rida 54 spins. It is possible for BTIKM to pass them soon, with nice updates for Adam, of course. And The Wanted won't pass Adam soon, at least not this week. Adam is still 139 spins ahead and The Wanted's spin increase has slowed down. Maybe we should start posting the link to the whole chart so people can make valid comparisons, like you just did. www.mediabase.com/mmrweb/insideradio/charts.asp?format=3&showyear=y&dpt=n

I didn't think the Bruno song was dancey at all....and if one has to listen a few times for a hook, there ain't no hook. I almost think the beat is more important than the hook - and NAL's song has a great beat. I can't believe that with the support and people at his disposal - Adam Lambert - the best freakin' singing out there - can't come up with a SMASH HIT. Can we have Trespassing, the single please? (All this promo is for single number two and the album, riiiight?)

That's all any of us can do. And you do a GREAT job wacking those green arrows (and getting the rest of us to wack)! You alone are probabaly responsible for 10% of his airplay!

Seems that way. But how hard is it to come up with a good beat? It's just a BEAT FFS.

Any talk of numbers is going to lead to discussion on the why's, how's, what's, etc. of getting the numbers. Just seems like a logical progression to me. This thread also routinely discusses what's happening with the competition (whether it's Adele, Katy, or that "other" person), so I don't see any problem there, either.
And, thanks for posting the link---it does help to see the whole chart.

Seems that way. But how hard is it to come up with a good beat? It's just a BEAT FFS. A great Pop song needs more than just a great beat. NAL's song is uptempo, which is a plus, but it still has its problems. It could have been a great Pop song (like LLWD-NOT Stronger), but the production isn't the best and they tried too hard. There are too many songs included in one. There is too much going on in the song. Simplicity is best for a mega hit! Think about the latest Rihanna song. Even the Adele song, SLY, has a simple piano background, but it's strength is in the lyrics. That's what made the song work on radio. You can't have too many things going at once in a radio song. Those types of songs are great album songs, but rarely are huge radio hits.

This could be a great Pop song. It has a nice beat and it has a couple of hooks. Also, it is more uptempo. So much depends on production and how Adam's voice works within the song. A "Stronger" only comes around every so often. Kelly hasn't had a song like Stronger in years and there isn't another one on her album like it. It is doubtful that Adam is going to have a song like this on his album, just because of the odds! Do people realize how rare it is to have a #1 on the CHR chart? There are some amazing artists with amazing songs that never make it to #1. Using Stronger as a guide or measuring stick, is almost like comparing album sales to Adele. It's just going to be frustrating!

Adam is smart and he knows what is popular. He will make the next song great, whatever it is. Hopefully, this time RCA will listen to him.

I think Fever could have been Adam's "Stronger." :( Well, maybe not quite that huge, lol, but I always thought that was a song that could have smashed (and I know, the whole pronoun thing). It had the beat, it had the hook...
I just want something on Trespassing to be radio hot.
