Q3 and Mys*&@^#r I agree: I feel like RCA is trying to keep Adam in the B Mars type mid-tempo safe crooner box and it is getting frustrating. It will be interesting to see what the next single is. No matter how good the Bruno Mars one is, I think Cuckoo would IMHO be the best because it screams simple, fun, catchy party tune for the summer. Personally I am also hooked on Chokehold but that is yet another mid-tempo ballad type and I want something fun and uptempo for the next single. What can we do to help this happen. I know people say we have no influence with RCA/SONY and don't want to piss them off but that makes me feel helpless, and what if Adam really wants one of his co-writes to be the next single. His interviews and song choices of late would seem to support that... ??? I agree with you except that BTIKM is a ballad -- it is not mid-tempo. The is why it doesn't easily fit into a weekend night syndicated show (SNO) or on most CHR stations. And if they released two tracks -- I would be OK with that too -- assuming they released a Pop track. NOTE I still think BTIKM is a great HAC track. And will eventually do well on AC. But I listen to Top 40 radio. ETA: The good-evil artist is quite old and not invented by Adam. It goes back centuries. LOL, well that shows what I know don't know about the differences... And RE: the Tommy vs. Kevin discussion I agree Kevin has much more soul to how he plays with Adam... I have met Tommy and he is really sweet, yet comes across as shy. |

This... RCA reminds me of my daughter. I once described her as a type of kid that used to put forks in outlets.. gets zapped, then tries the spoon.. only to go back with the butter knife. Learns the long and hard way. You'd think that they would have figured out by now that Idol fans move on. Definite fools errand.  |

I really don't think RCA is a good match for Adam.They have done the same thing to Kelly and to David Cook.Even Carrie Underwood is basically singing the same song with different costumes.RCA Repeats the same winning song format over and over again. The suits go for the Albums,when the buying public are going for singles, IMHO,They are behind the times.
With that said,Adam as noted by others here on Adamtopia, knows how to play the game and how to win the game.No one will put Baby in the corner,the corner just isn't big enough.
No matter what single is chosen,Adam still has his songs on the album.. they will get out one way or another.
It is frustrating to say the least and all we can do is to support Adam in every way we can.I just hope they don't keep delaying the album until the public loses interest.
I really wish Adam had the artistic freedom that Lady Gaga seems to have. I remember Pink leaving her record company in the beginning because of artistic differences. BOY,It's one hell of a tough business.
Please forgive me for going on and on.. I guess I just feel kind of frustrated and helpless.

Yeah, we are in the Air New Zealand Lounge They're a rugby team called The Warriors And the dude is singing it great. All the ad libs too! There are sports dudes from a sporst team in the lounge singing "We Are Family" they have no idea the dude who wrote it's next to them I'm chilling in the lounge waiting for a full day of traveling. I slept like a baby last night. Okie dokie, off now to attempt that vague thing called RL...lol and it's only just gone 2.00pm :  |

In the end, RCA is not totally stupid. Look at Kelly. If she would have release her album in March 2011 like she and her fans wanted, she would have been buried under Adele and Katy Perry and Rhianna and Lady Gaga and ,,,,,,,
Instead, RCA waited, held back the best single, held the album for nine months and now she had to big hits and the album is still selling.
Nothing could have saved Cook's album because it was not very commercial.

In the end, Adam's real music will be released and if the gods are smiling her will have some big hits.
And what god would not smile on AFL????

WUT? So, releasing BTIKM as a first single had nothing to do wiith introducing the whole dark/light concept of the album that he's been talking about and as per the music video? They released BTIKM because it showcases his voice????? ??? Methinks if they simply wanted a mid-tempo song to re-introduce his voice, they coulda gone with Chokehold. I don't think BTIKM showcases his voice at all. So there. Maybe Chokehold wasn't ready for the release before Christmas when BTIKM came out? Just guessing. I love Chokehold, and to me it's catchier than BTIKM. |
