#18 on VH1. :-/ Time to wave bye-bye to BTIKM. I'm sad that this MV was not seen by more people because I think it is excellent. Too bad the single was not strong enough to get more plays for it. But of course then there's the DC #1 MV to make me go ??? I think we got sidetracked this week on other polls and there just weren't enough votes. I just tweeted, asking everyone to add 20 more votes a day and see if we can make it Top 10. It is my 2nd favorite video, after FYE. Feeling kind of bad for Ray Kay too. I am also still very supsicious of VH1's system. When I am voting, that little thing that comes up on the bottom that shows who else is getting votes is almost always, Adam, Adam, Adam! Do not get it! Definitely do not give up on BTIKM! There is no reason why Adam can't have a song climbing on HAC while the new single comes out on CHR.

mys*&@^#r50, Thanks for stating my feelings so clearly & emphatically. I radio request daily and vote on VH1 alternating many twitter accounts (created a long time ago) at least 4 hours a day. I do think peeps have been very distracted voting @mtv and keeping up with radio promotion.

I should clarify my post I think. I personally am not abandoning BTIKM. I will still give it 60 votes daily on VH1 and will continue to request on Q102 & other places. Sadly there are no HAC stations in my listening area afaics & my local CHR has almost dropped it entirely.
I definitely want to see it go higher on HAC - I just think it is time for single #2!
If people stopped voting on VH1 & voted on the polls instead that seems odd to me. Only the ones that guarantee airplay have any importance imo.

I am campaigning for everyone to increase by 20 votes per day! Lots of people get caught up in the camraderie of the polls. I am not surprised that the video dropped at all. :-/

I really hope people don't wave goodbye to BTIKM.....it will move up to 18 on HAC tonight, is still gaining spins every day (absent the format changes) and it will get adds tomorrow. If RCA are planning to push the next single to CHR soon there is no reason to abandon this song on HAC. The top of the Chart has been very tough recently with 3 artists taking up 5/6 of the top 20 slots I think it's great Adam is even close at this point.....he has had no non radio promotion at all and clearly much of the radio is for the next single (hence RCAs slowing of spending to keep VHI going). I think the effort will be on the new single but I don't see why it would be bad to have BTIKM hang around a while on HAC......in short I think we should continue to request and show interest. And I LOVE the song! There is no reason to give up, but RCA is going to push a new song to CHR and HAC at the same time. When they release the new single, they will send it to both CHR and HAC stations. This will signal the PDs that this is the new single. Unless you are someone like Adele or Rihanna, a new single sent to radio means that radio stations start dropping the old single out of rotation. The best thing to hope for is a slow decent. If it is Bruno's song, look for a quick drop, because HAC stations will pick that song up quickly. I hope fans are somewhat prepared for this, because chances are it will happen rather quickly. TNS (the new single) is not going to be climbing on the CHR charts while BTIKM is climbing on the HAC charts. It just doesn't happen that way, unless you are one of the Pop superstars. RCA is going to want to send TNS to HAC stations. It is the only format Adam has had success on this era. If TNS is NCOE, and it probably is, the add dates for HAC and CHR will probably only be a week apart. RCA will want as many stations from both formats jumping in as soon as possible. There really isn't much time to waste before the album comes out!

Did the FYE video ever get on the vh1 countdown? If so how did it do? I loved that video but thought it too sophisticated for the masses, sort of like BTIKM. kiss (keep it simple, stupid) maybe not a numbers thread question, sorry

It made it pretty high, too, but it was the old voting system.

Tigerlilly - don't disagree at all, although if BTIKM drops quickly because the new song is a fast riser that will be a high class problem for sure! But maintaining or even growing BTIKM on HAC in the meantime, and even if only briefly during any overlap seems the best option to me.
And i thought we had established in the last era that voting is only one element of VHI placement and maybe only a small element at that? I thought we had found out that it is label support/payola that counts the most. I think it's understandable that RCA is not choosing to spend more money on BTIKM, hence the drop. They are going to push single 2 and need the dollars for that. I don't think there was ever any thought of doing that for Cook and they put all they had into single 1, including maintaining it for a week at no. 1 on VHI. Second video never appeared on the countdown and the single had no promotion at all. So, BTIKM dropping to me makes sense.

After so many weeks, I totally believe myspenser's theory (I think it was her) that BTIKM was released to counteract the bastard single. And that was the only finished song of a single quality they had ready to go with in December.
