@aolmusic: Have you heard Adam Lambert's new single "Never Close Our Eyes" yet? Listen here! blog.music.aol.com/2012/04/13/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes-bruno-mars/Adam Lambert 'Never Close Our Eyes' Song Debuts, Co-Penned by Bruno Mars Attention, Lambert Nation! Adam Lambert has released the second single off his forthcoming sophomore album Trespassing. Adam's voice soars on the infectious dance track, "Never Close Our Eyes," co-penned by none other than Bruno Mars! "But you know I wish that this night would never be over/ There's plenty of time to sleep when we die/ So let's just stay awake until we grow older/ If I had my way we'd never close our eyes, our eyes, never!" the "American Idol" star-turned-Queen's newest frontman sings. The carpe diem-themed song is all about living life to the fullest and partying until the break of dawn. Also from this blog: "Assisting Mars with the lyrics were Phillip Lawrence and Ari Levine, while the uptempo track was produced by famed pop hitmaker Dr. Luke." I wonder about the "level of assistance." ; Feel sorry for these co-writers who generally don't get mentioned. Sort of like WWMF. It was only co-written by Pink. People tended to ignore the writers and just called it Pink-written. True it's too bad for the co-writers that don't get mentioned but.....I guess they don't mind since they are racking in the royalty money for co-writing it unlike the artist who gets none for singing it and making it a hit. :

Honestly I would not worry about it. Core fans matter but there are not enough of us to move the needle on track sales. NCOE needs people to hear it on the radio and online, like it and want to buy it -- lots of people, like a million. Eventually, yes. I agree. Any song needs the radio spins and purchasers. But initially, getting a single into Top 10 or Top 20 makes it visible to those that checkout i-Tunes on Tuesday to see what is popular. It might get a casual fan to listen and buy. Or even a brand new fan to listen and buy. ( I do that) The fans got BTIKM to #19 and #11 Pop. With this free i-Tunes offer, I don't see that happening. And, if as you say, it is not going to result in that many deluxe per-orders then, I am back to what is the point? Fans did not get BTIKM to #11 on the Pop Chart.
BTIKM hit #19 on the Adult Pop Chart and #76 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the Mediabase Top 40/CHR/Pop airplay chart it peaked at #51. A long way from #11.
JMHO Fans cannot get a song up to the top of the Pop airplay chart -- PDs need to do that. Sometimes PDs will do it because they see a song is really popular but not always.ETA: I misread the comment!! Sorry. Never mind.

I'm a member of AO but rarely go there (don't even remember my login anymore), can someone please fill me in about the extra perks (if any) pre-ordering at AO vs. iTunes? I mean, the album...thx! :-) I want a physical single album, so I pre-order one from AO. If you only want digital, there is no difference, except that people will get to see the i-tunes sales charting. Thanks, Mys*&@^#r, for answering my question. Up thread somewhere mentioned that we'd get a free down of NCOE when pre-order the deluxe on iTunes, is that right? thx.

BTW-If RCA felt they had to put out a single at the bad time of year for spins to combat the confusion of the bastard album being called his new music - grrr- I'm glad it was BTIKM. It got Adam back in the artist spotlight again without sacrificing NCOE or Cuckoo or Trespassing. He made the rounds of the radio stations and got those good relationships going again. BTIKM didn't do badly at radio HAC either. Now he is getting massive good reviews at the right time, closer to release. NCOE will be perfect for his Idol performance and album release. Maybe there was a method to their madness after all. 8-) (Highlighting is mine.) I'm reminded of the radio promo where they played a bastard track as the interview began. AFL was taken aback and very clear to the DJ that he hadn't put that music out, and said that album caused a whole lot of trouble. So, could be.

jonalisblog.com/2012/04/12/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes-single-premiere/Adam Lambert: ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ Single Premiere! Check out the premiere of Adam Lambert‘s brand-new track “Never Close Our Eyes!” The track will serve as the second official single off his sophomore album, Trespassing, due out May 15th! The upbeat new single was co-written and produced by none other than Bruno Mars and master hit-maker Dr. Luke and should serve as the proper track to rule the airwaves for Adam. “Never Close Our Eyes” lets Adam‘s powerhouse vocals shine through the massive pop melody and crisp production. It’s been crafted to perfection. What do you guys think? Hey rihannsu or whoever doesn't mind braving AO - can you please report that this link possesses a download button? Its a lovely review, but it looks like its owner is blatently providing the opportunity to pirate the song. Of course one can *thank* JonAli for the review while also asking them to kindly remove the download button. :
