I read the thread here the day (and days following) that BTIKM came out. There were a few posters who said they didn't care for it--but not many. It was a joyous day with lots of praise for Adam's song. We thought it would hit. Perhaps the most frequented description was "earworm". Why did I keep reading the here that BTIKM was a "terrible" choice, that RCA should have known better etc. It's like I am reading an alternate reality where everyone predicted BTIKM wouldn't do well. Not at all how I remember it. Weird. I really like BTIKM, and I remember it received good critical reviews for the most part. I don't find it melancholy and sad like some describe it; to me, it is real and hopeful and the message resonates. My favorite songs are usually not the ones that radio plays, although I have come to enjoy the light, fun energy of some pop songs at their best, especially when I'm driving. I liked BTIKM. However, I think the studio mix missed by going to rock and too bombastic. The acoustic versions of the song were more touching and really brought home the lyrics. Adam has a powerful voice. Too much of that power can be overwhelming when it is broadcast across the radio and you are listening in your car. I think it's a question of balance.

Hey - Feel free to scroll down from this rather pale, green person. Stomach has been doing flip-flops all day. While at work, all I could think of is "What do I do? What do I do?" I guess, the best answer right now is to do nothing and just 'wait and see'. Aak! That's not me. I can't sit here. I have a visa to Russia I just received that expires the day after Adam & Queen perform on July 3rd (oh, pleeeeese don't change it again!!) - and having it expire that soon, I've learned, is playing with fire. Because, if anything happens - flight delay, anything - and the visa expires, I won't be able to leave Moscow! So, I've emailed the consulate here in SF - - JanuarySnow, if you have any ideas, I'm all ears! Kanadie, I feel your pain. I more than feel it. I am ruled by my heart, and because of this compass, and the passion I seem to wear on my sleeve, I've met with great joy throughout my life. Learned lessons, too. My fortune is in my family & friends; not money - this trip is financed by my will and my work - therein lies my wealth. I've two tickets stored in the safe at the hotel where we will stay in Moscow - for the June 30 date. Don't even want to talk about the cost. Suffice to say it is a catalyst for making this still happen. I can't bring myself to call the airline yet. It's Delta. Do you think if I mention Adam they'll give me a deal? See, even my attempt at wry humor is falling flat; feeling beige and dry. A three-week, once in a lifetime trip, was planned around Sonisphere and June 30. Boy, am I learning a thing or two. And, it's not about Adam - it's about me. I don't want these changes to jade me; color my thinking and leave me to test the waters instead of diving in. So, if anyone is interested, I'll keep you posted on how the airline ticket revamp takes place. And, I'll be up at 1AM Pacific Time Tuesday to try for the Hammersmith tickets. I have no idea how my Sonisphere purchase will validate my place in line. Gotta move along. This 'trivial pursuit' is a test of faith towards what changed me, three years ago. Somewhere out there is a man who was told 'No, No, No'. And he said "Fuck you!" This is my "Fuck you" time - I intend to use it wisely, reconfigure and adapt and use my resources and give alot - but remain true to my desire and my goal. It's crazy! But, when I'm there I promise I'll party till they take me away. Momtomany a beautiful post stated by a beautiful person! I hope all who had plans to go to these concerts will step back, let it all settle in, and then TRY LIKE HECK TO MAKE THIS, MAYBE, ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY, HAPPEN!!

this is going to sound so random and I'm sorry but it's driving me insane.
does anyone know where the video is of Adam in high school were he's with three other students and they are talking about school or getting involved or something like that?
I'm terrible at finding things but I know I've seen this video before.
Anyone who can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Not at all how I remember it. Weird. There is a big difference between a fan really liking a song and the song being great for radio. I LOVE Trespassing -- it is pure Adam -- but NCOE is the song that fits Pop Radio. Even Adam tweeted it was picked because it was the track that had the most interest from radio. There are some public posts back in December that expressed skepticism about the song because it is slow tempo (82.5 BPM) and does not have a classic pop structure or a hook. Just my opinion -- BTIKM is a lovely track and but not appropriate for US Pop radio. That does not mean that I do not like the track, it means that I do not think it was a good choice as a radio single -- something I posted months ago. ETA: Of course the songs I love would make terrible choices for radio singles -- my favs are mostly FYE bonus tracks and one was never even released in the US -- CLYG. I didn't direct this at you specifically. And it isn't really about people saying whether they liked BTIKM or not. It's just that back then most people thought it would be a hit. Yes, some did express concern with it being too slow tempo for the UK and a few didn't care for it but I don't recall people saying they thought it was a poor choice for a single. Now it feels like everyone has 20/20 hindsight. Maybe I am wrong, and it doesn't really matter. Just feeling deja vu and hoping for a different outcome this time.

Awwww.... collective chins up kanadie and momtomany I know to some extent what you are going through, although our Kiwi contingent have been blessed so far with not having booked any flights to anywhere - yet. The England accommodation screw-up that I made is a whole nuther story tho. I reacted very badly to that and felt physically ill with stress and panic for days after. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't think straight, so I do understand what you are feeling. Now, the odd thing about all of that is that I was prepared to cancel the entire trip and say f**k you universe, then slink off into a corner and lick my wounds. But, then the AFL kicked in and all of a sudden this ~thing happened and we will get an extra two concerts MORE and the dates (for me) still work. Although the wrong hotel booking is not ~ideal for us, we now will be able to use it as it is more suitable than what the Stevenage one would have been. Who knew or would've guessed. So, I guess I am one of the lucky ones now. I am just so sad for everybody that has been affected by the changes and particularly for those who can no longer make it at all. I was so looking forward to meeting ALL of you :-/ Kanadie, the others that have posted earlier about just standing back for a few days and taking some very BIG breaths are right bb. When you are so torn up inside with emotion, stress and anger it is almost impossible to make rational judgement calls *sends you warm fuzzies* I'm still hanging out for the Kiev concert date - since I'mma going be in *coughs* that neck of the woods anyways...lol So was digging around, following links off twitter (as you do) and ended up on Elton John's official? site www.eltondaily.com/p/tour-dates.htmlThen clicked on the tour tab and got this... If Queen + Adam + Elton are doing an early July concert - then where the fuck is he going fit it in??? Yes he is already in Europe, so I suppose that's a start : But then see my arrow pointing to the sidebar. WTF is that all aout. PS: It's gonna be such a buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz to meet you for realzzzzz JanuarySnow

It's what was happening in the days leading up to the announcement of the second single. People were pissed that it was going to be NCOE because they were sure it wouldn't be as good as trespassing or cuckcoo but when they heard the final version a lot of them quickly changed their tune and thought it was a brilliant move to release as the second single. If the song doesn't do well they will go back to believing he should've released Trespassing or Cuckcoo...everyone likes to feel like they are right, even if they were initially wrong. ;D

Cut short video of Snoopy and Woodstock set to Adam Lambert's Trespassing - a bit of FUN I love this. I posted it on my facebook, I hope that is ok. (if that is a no no let me know and I will delete it) Then I listened to NCOE and after the moaning part...all I could hear was "NOW JUMP". Haha. I am proud to be a GLAMBERT! 8-)
