wow, Rheimer your avatar next to that pic is a paradox. How so?[/quote] Goofy, nonsensical juxtaposed against intense, serious when in reality they both share the same truth. Life's my light and liberty and I'll shine when I want to shine.

Well according to that chart of Elton's schedule posted on pg. 22, the Queen/Elton/Adam concert will be between June 24 and June 29 OR someone mentioned July 1 which is Euro Cup in Kiev. Seems like travel into Kiev during this Euro cup isn't going to be easy or cheap - even if they aren't actually performing as part of that, I read that hotels are jacking up prices. Guess/hope we find out soon enough. I've been going over and over that Elton John chart I posted a few pages back and I'm going to be kinda hmmmmm...... if Adam + Queen + Elton end up as part of the closing ceremony of the footie finals. One, I'm sportsaphobic and two I don't want to have to sit through a match of screaming, rabid (oh the irony) football fans. It is however, perfectly acceptable to sit dance through a concert with screaming, rabid Queenbert fans. I want it to be all about the music *stamps foot* Gotta get my priorities right ;D

Consulting a tax attorney is a good thing. They alleviate these problems with careful planning but still keep you in the driver's seat. I hesitate to reply to this because earlier today a mod said this was off-topic but damn, it tickled my funny bone! Sounds like a commercial! I'm ready to go hire a tax attorney and I don't even need one. I'm such an impressionable burrito. On topic so I won't get booted from ATOP for life, I pre-ordered the album from Best Buy and Wal-Mart today. I've already pre-ordered from AO, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Damn, I hope no one mentions another source. I've still got to buy from I-Tunes. I may need a tax attorney come May 15th. Oh wait, no, maybe a bankruptcy lawyer. Hahahaha. I thought so too (commercial) when I read it back. But impressionable is a good thing. Burrito's are very versatile you know! ETA: Didn't see the OT. Still behind. Sorry.

Okay, this is a random collection of waaaay OT ramblings, which I post only in the safe knowledge of a brand new spanking-clean thread hovering somewhere above me... First of all, I'm digging the new Scissor Sisters single that Adam posted, but something about it was driving me crazy and I finally figured out what it was...Anyone else get a very strong Katy Perry Firework vibe from the song? Sound so similar to me, especially the line around :25 secs that goes: "we've gone too far beyond the borders its just you and I" which sounds JUST like the line around :35 secs in Firework that goes: "six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing": Which is not to accuse Scissor Sisters of anything--LOVE THEM--but just to point out how hard it is not to use unconscious musical echoes in ones work. Also, I figured just in case anyone else was bugged and trying to place the same memory... And a totally different even more remote topic... Do any of you remember when Mika posted that awesome vid of Newark Mayor Cory Booker laying down the law about New Jersey's talk of putting marriage equality to a public vote? Here it is again in case you missed it: Anyway, that DUDE is unbelievably awesome. Turns out yesterday he ran into a burning building, against the will of his security detail, to rescue a young woman from a second-floor apartment. Yeah, cause he's a bad-ass. You really couldn't write this shit any better. So for all you Booker fans, enjoy: www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57413588/newark-mayor-cory-booker-race-into-home-fire-was-a-come-to-jesus-moment/People tweeted some pretty hilarious things today under the hashtag #CoryBookerStories. For example: "Seal Team 6" was actually just the code word for Cory Booker. #CoryBookerStories and, to keep to today's topic of choice: Cory Booker's Form 1040 lists humanity as a dependent #CoryBookerStories Anyway, sorry for being soooooo off topic! *Tiptoes quietly (and quickly) out of thread!!!*...

You have a very good point. We have probably all experienced the same thing in our lives. You apply for a job. You have the experience, the education, the recommendations, the right "fit" with the position, you dress appropriately for the interview, you are articulate and warm when meeting the interview team. However, in these economic times, there are hundreds of applicants for the same position, and more than a handful have credentials as desirable as yours. Anyone of them could get the job instead of you. The tipping point may be something as minor as whose references, when called, were the most effusive. Or whose resume was printed on a better grade of paper. Or someone who went to the same university as the chair of the search committee. Or the flip of a coin. And, in the real world, the job may be awarded to someone with significantly less qualifications than you and the other handful. Someone who has no experience, but whose uncle works for the company. Someone who lies and kisses up to the members of the search committee. Someone who is ten years younger with you, or has bigger boobs. Someone whose daddy is influential and offered the committee chair membership in the country club. Yeah, that's life. It ain't always fair. In fact, it mostly ain't fair. Adam has an extraordinary talent, a keen intelligence, and a compelling charisma. He has produced some very catchy, enjoyable tracks. RCA is doing the very best they know how to do to get him a big hit on radio. Hope it all comes together, and he gets the job. If not, that does not take away one iota from his creation and his craft. Finally, put both kids to bed and got back on here to catch up...and I just had to comment on above post. Cassie, I like how you always put things into perspective, and articulate the way that I wish I could. I'm no expert at music, or music business but I've learned so much from all you guys, and enjoyed the forum from sideline. Big thanks to all the people contributing every day to this forum!
