I do not listen to pop radio very often, but yesterday in my effort to want to hear NCOE on the radio, I listened to a station on my computer for 2 and half hours ( Adam played within 25 minutes of start time)until they went into repeat mode. I rated each song as it completed, honestly. Some songs really touched me, some were not to my taste, and some were WTF??? All I can tell you Adam's song was a complete standout. First it was the effortlessness in his voice, he enunciated, his voice was strong, the message was understandable and the melody different. I was a little miffed that NCOE was chosen as the second single, but after hearing it in its element of Pop radio, I feel nothing but great success for this song. Although I would have loved either Shady, Kickin In or Tresspassing ( my favorites), I can feel it in my bones now that NCOE will provide the success and be the setup for his next single, where he will explode. Awww, Smokey, I'm so glad to hear this! I know you were unhappy with the first single choice (as was I) and uncertain about the second one--both of which opinions are fair enough, btw--so I'm so pleased that although it's not your favorite you loved how it sounded on the radio! Glad you get to share in that thrill, too (it's no fun to feel left out of the most public part of the process)! I've yet to hear NCOE on the radio but I have high hopes for it for precisely the reasons you explain. It highlights so much of what is exceptional about Adam, whilst still fitting in. Oh, and by the way, MyS*&@^#r, I'm #teamdancesongs too!!! ;D :D

OMG, May 15th can't come soon enough! I want everyone to hear this fantastic album!!!!I've read so many reviews of the snippits and everyone says it's killer! Looks like the time is right for this music! Don't be silly, bb. I just counted that we were waiting about 888 long days and nights for the new album to come out, 24 days is ridiculously short time in comparison with it ;D

Trespassing 1st week is going to have to contend with Adele, Carrie Underwood (who will still be selling a ton, I'm sure) and Glee (I don't think any assumptions can be made regarding pre-sale numbers---Glee likely gets most sales after the songs have aired on TV, I don't think it ever has really high presales).
I hope RCA gets going with the single this week. Adam is doing a big radio concert for 103.5 Chicago KISS and he is the ONLY performer who is not being spun by this station. At all. If they don' t start to play the song this week, I am going to assume that the concert spot was done as a favor for Adam and RCA (which is fine if that's the case)

Glee is down 3 tenths of a point (which doesn't say burnout) possibly because it just came off of a seven week hiatus. This is typical, it usually takes a week or two for viewers to get back into things once a show has been off the air for close to two months. American Idol always does better than Glee! It does better than any other show on Fox. It's been the ratings leader on Fox for years. (although it is down by about 30% this season) The discussion is if Glee Graduation is likely to outsell Trespassing. My comment is not about short term changes but the long term ratings of the show. I posted Idol and Voice numbers to give perspective on Glee's ratings which I believe demonstrate that Glee is losing popularity or at least viewers. Some people do not look at ratings on a regular business and I thought the perspective was useful. IMO Glee is burning out. Average seasonal ratings peaked in 2010. Compared to 2010, and even 2011 -- Glee is down with 18-49 viewers. April 14, 2010 6:16 PM ET-- ""Glee" was a lot of things during its fall run this season, but at just under 8 million viewers a week, one thing it wasn't was a bona fide hit.
That changed Tuesday night (April 13).
The FOX series scored the biggest audience in its short history Tuesday, going from cult favorite to top-20 show in the span of one hour. The headline numbers are 13.66 million viewers -- more than 5 million above its season average of 7.95 million -- and a 5.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, a bump of two full points over its fall run."
Link: blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/04/glee-rockets-up-the-ratings.html3. My post was directly in the conversation that I did not believe that Glee Graduation was likely to beat Adam's album sales. Album sales are down, viewership is down, no sign that Glee Graduation will open with such a strong week that it is destined to capture #1 Album for the week. Only one of the 11 Glee album was a US #1 album "Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers" -- They have released 8 albums since then. Last Glee Cast albums charted 4, 3, 1, 3, 5, 3, 2, 4, 16, 6, 9. Nothing in the says that Glee Graduation is likely to take #1. Could it happen? Sure. It could be brilliant. Will it? I am not putting my money on it. So back to the main question -- will Glee Graduation outsell Trespassing? And if you believe it will, why will this Glee album outperform the past 8 albums?

Thank you, Q3 and NoAngel, for your insight. I truly believe that stanning Adam has made me a better person, and I think a lot of others feel he has effected them the same way. I see the world in a new and different way. I wonder if Adam realizes that he has, in his own way, changed the world. Can't think of anything to add except I feel the same also. I am so grateful to have had Adam and his music at this end of my life. I have learned so much. Never too old to learn new things. Between Adam and Atop, I am getting an education on life and "stuff" I never looked at or knew before. It has been wonderful to use my time in educating myself on the human condition and how wonderful life is with Adam and his music and all the wonderful people here.

I heard NCOE on my German radio station for the first time today (in a request show) and it felt really good to finally hear the song on the radio! My poor neighbors! + Hope they will add it to their normal program this time, unfortunately they didn't add BTIKM! :-[

Q3 - I loved your Nine Reasons this morning. My eldest son is the one in my family right now who is the most thankful. I have been saying for years that I was going to take them to Europe and have had hypothetical plans of all kinds but never actually hit the button on the expense. He has wanted to go out of the US so badly but really did not think it would ever actually happen. I had a ticket to Knebworth but the whole idea of the huge crowd and off center location, plus already expecting huge crowds at Burning Man just made it ultimately a non-starter. Then the cancellation of Sonisphere and the booking of Hammersmith ignited the flame and I thought ... This is the time to take them to London! Yesterday I had my son on the phone for moral support as I booked the airline tickets and lodging. First we looked at the various room types and other items then I said, "Are you ready ... I just hit the Book Button." He was so excited; we both were and it was a wonderful moment. Thank you Adam Lambert from me and my son. Awww. I wish my mom was a glambert! ;D Earlier today I said my favorite snippet (at the moment) is Broken English. And now I have to say that my least favorite snippet is maybe Naked Love. :( I loved it when we first heard it and I certainly don't hate it BUT when I compare it to all the other amazing tracks I have to say that it sounds kind of boring and is definitely not as good as the rest of the album. But maybe it could do well on radio, idk. It still makes me happy and don't get me wrong since I do like it too but just not as much as the other snippets... Also (like I predicted) I'm a little disappointed in the OOL snippet... The first live version of it just has so much meaning to me and it's so beautiful that it's no wonder I feel like this studio version just don't give enough justice to the song... (though I love this haunting feeling I get when I listen the snippet! :D) However the snippet was VERY short so there is still chance to it being better than I think and I keep on hoping that it will surprise me in the end. :D Maybe I'm just too quick to judge it! ETA My favorite Idol performance was Ring of Fire.
